Job Title: Senior Thermal Modelling Engineer
Location: Warton – Onsite
Salary: £49,900+ (DOE)
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting delivery of the team targets in accordance with time, cost and quality
- Support thermal analysis activities for aircraft assemblies and subsystems
- Develop high-fidelity finite element models and perform thermal simulations
- Correlate analytical models with test data
- Responsible for applying relevant engineering and design standards and processes
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Degree in a STEM subject such as Physics, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, System Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Computational Modelling, or equivalent experience/product knowledge
- Experience with Thermal Modelling and direct application
- Considerable understanding of heat transfer and materials behaviour
- Proficiency with FEA and thermal analysis tools
- Experience working within a large, multi-faceted, multi-project environment
- Understanding of the overall systems engineering lifecycle
- Experience in engineering or a related field
Desirable:
- Have previously working in an aerospace, automotive or defence background

The GCAP Air Thermal & Electromagnetic Engineering Team:
The team sits at the centre of capability within the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP). The UK, Italy and Japan partnership developing the next-generation combat air system.
The team specialises in electromagnetics, low observables and thermal modelling, supporting flight systems, structures and vehicle design across the programme. As the focal point for thermal modelling within Air engineering, they work collaboratively across disciplines to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
With a growing team of seven operating in a flat structure, GCAP offers long-term career development within a major international programme, alongside UK and occasional travel to Italy and Japan.
