Role Description:
We have an excellent opportunity for an Infrastructure Assurance Engineer – Electrical based in Adelaide.
In this role you will provide independent and progressive assurance on the engineering, design and construction deliverables and activities associated with the facilities, infrastructure, plant & equipment of the Nuclear Propulsion Submarine Construction Yard.
You will also ensure that the facilities and assets are safe, legal and compliant, as well as fit-for purpose for the shipbuilder to acquire, operate and maintain
Core Duties:
- Review engineering design, construction, and operational standards for relevant electrical disciplines and ensure alignment with industry codes, regulatory requirements, environmental requirements and best practices
- Arrange design certification reviews with the Chief Engineer
- Review discipline-specific engineering drawings, calculations, and models and monitor project designs and construction to verify compliance with established standards
- Contribute to the Engineering Assurance Report providing input within a timely manner
- Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within relevant electrical discipline
- Work closely with engineering managers, project managers, designers, and contractors to ensure project technical integrity
- Coach and mentor junior engineers and provide input into their professional development plans.
- Identify and implement Continuous Improvement and Efficiency (CIE) initiatives including process improvements as required
About You
- Electrical or Electrical/ Electronic or Electrical/ Mechatronic Engineering Degree qualified
- A Chartered Professional Engineer in Electrical (CPEng).
- Extensive experience within the electrical engineering discipline and demonstrated experience in the relevant domain
- Extensive experience in being responsible for the development of electrical system designs, participation in design reviews, undertaking typical design analyses and implementation of solutions, their integration, validation, qualification testing and delivery and support
- Strong communication skills and able to build highly effective relationships
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
