JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The Integrated Logistics Operation Centre (ILOC) Capability Insertion Specialist is a Contractor Manpower Substitution (CMS) role. The jobholder is part of a cross function, multi-disciplinary team which acts as the Single Point of Contact (SPoC) for the integration of Typhoon Fleet Engineering Operations across Typhoon Main Operating Bases and the Scheduled Maintenance and Upgrade Unit (SMU).
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Coordinate future capabilities, low level modifications, Urgent Operational Requirements (UOR) and configuration control, with the aim of providing a standard and consistent suite of documentation that is timely, clear and fit for purpose for the RSAF.
· Controlling and coordinating Operational Readiness Reviews (ORRs), in order to assure the RSAF that the product is supportable and fit for purpose, providing feedback to the ILOC Manager at all times
· Plan tasks allocated to them by the ILOC Manager and Senior Capability Insertion Specialist, to ensure they meet the time and quality requirements of the Typhoon operation and the RSAF’s Regulatory Framework for Logistics.
· Provide day to day liaison with the Typhoon stakeholder community to ensure that allocated tasks are correctly prioritised against established and emergent requirements.
· Maintaining a Capability Insertion tracker that details the progress of the Insertion as an end-to-end process, recording, tracking and reporting progress of tasks being managed to ensure schedules are achieved.
· Produce and distribute reports and returns as directed by ILOC Manager and Senior Capability Insertion Specialist.
· Assist in the preparation and distribution of reports as directed by ILOC Manager and Senior Capability Insertion Specialist, as well as assist in the preparation and delivery of the daily ILOC Brief to key stakeholders as directed.
· Maintain a force-wide Typhoon Specialist Authorizations Matrix (TEAM) and associated instructional specifications (IS), in accordance with TTP106.
· Responsible to the Senior Capability Insertion Specialist, assess, monitor and implement Continuous Improvement.
· Assessing, analysing and mapping the current processes, procedures, systems, environment, business interfaces and ways of working and their respective performance.
· Planning tasks to ensure they meet the time and quality requirements of the Typhoon operation and the Regulatory Framework for Logistics.
· Leading task planning and prioritisation meetings with appropriate Typhoon stakeholders.
· Provide day to day liaison with the Typhoon stakeholder community to ensure allocated tasks are correctly prioritised against established and emergent requirements.
· Producing and distributing ILOC Tasking Letters, MoDSAP requests, Technical Requests and any other ILOC communication as directed by the ILOC Manager.
· Provide counterpart development for all RSAF and civilian staff assigned to the ILOC in the form of coaching, consolidation and work experience.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial, Software, or related field).
· Aeronautical / Engineering discipline exposure or have experience supported by formal, recorded workplace applied related training.
· Strong understanding of core engineering principles.
· Demonstrable ability to plan and deliver tasks to demanding deadlines.
· Problem solving abilities, set and manage work direction in a rapidly changing environment.
· Developed interpersonal skills to track and report on a large number of diverse activities and the ability to communicate, influence and direct the decision making process at all levels.
· Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
Desirable:
· Familiarity with the TEPIDOIL concept.
· Knowledge of Typhoon, or other fast jet platforms.
· Experience in an aircraft military support/maintenance environment.
· Have completed a recognised aircraft Engineering apprenticeship in industry/military or similar qualification in aircraft systems Engineering.
· Experience of a computerised work recording and asset management system, such as ESS.
· Familiarity with the Teamcenter application as a user.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
· Previous experience in an Engineering operations environment.
· Experience of the qualification and certification process for product development.
