JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

This role is responsible to ensure that all personnel engaged in activities within this Area of Responsibility follow effective Safety, SHE and Quality Assurance including compliance with all related regulations, policies and procedures. Delivery of customer requirements in order to sustain and build aircrew relationships. Attending meetings at the request of key stakeholders to provide any relevant information pertaining to the performance of the HMSS Bay. You will assist in the generation of reports relating to the overall performance of the HMSS Bay. Conducting maintenances, scheduled and unscheduled repairs of HMSS in accordance with the Approved Technical Data and procedures. Supporting the Saudisation process through OJT. You will adhere to approved Maintenance data and highlighting any anomalies when they arise. Completing any other reasonable duties or requests that are made by your Line Management. You will be able to work as an effective team member, contributing guidance to others when needed, and be proactive in the seeking of tasks from superiors when required. Following local work process within the bay, highlighting any inconsistencies or possible improvements to all Line Managers. You will have awareness of some Continuing Airworthiness (CA) terminology, including an understanding of the topic & will have received a CA Awareness brief.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

Delivering and managing the HMSS capabilities in support of the RSAF Typhoon operations across KSA.

Aware of the principles of Continuing Airworthiness and how they apply to your area of maintenance including the terminology used.

Aware of the limitations of your personal authorisations.

Familiar with how authorisations, competence and currency affect the completion of maintenance tasks.

Aware of the need to report all accidents and incidents in controlled and confidential manner.

Correct completion & recording of all engineering practises in line with 2nd & 3rd signature responsibilities.

Task prioritisation to ensure no loss in flying capability.

Segregation and control, including tagging of all materials regardless of serviceability state.

Job card compilation & control, including a working knowledge of 1st & 2nd signature responsibilities.

Ensuring strict adherence to correct engineering practises and usage of approved data.

Generation of statistics relating to the overall performance and usage of HMSS.

Control of Supply & POL systems including relative document control.

Have a working knowledge of Tool Control, ensuring correct procedures are in place at all times.

Awareness of the maintenance planning philosophy. Have an understanding of the distinctive terms used within it and how it relates to your role.

Have a detailed knowledge of the Aircrew Assisted Escape System (AAES) and the safety requirements of entering and exiting the aircraft cockpit safely. You are always aware of the training for the AAES Typhoon authorisation
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential
-
Extensive proven experience within the field of Aircrew Life Support Equipment & HMSS serving on an operational military flying unit – Typhoon preferred.
-
A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA.

Thorough working knowledge of HMSS maintenance, fault finding and fitting procedures.
-
Practical experience working on HMSS and associated test equipment.
-
Broad experience of coaching and mentoring techniques to supervise and develop others through a training evaluation strategy.
-
Able to adapt to rapidly changing customer requirements.
-
An understanding of RAF and/or RSAF engineering operating procedures.
-
Thorough working knowledge of aircraft Life Support Fast Jet Equipment.
-
Preferred experience of working in the aviation industry in a Gulf Coast Country.
-
Leadership skills and proven ability to supervise all levels of engineering personnel.

Hold 2nd signature.
-
The successful candidate, Saudi or Expatriate must obtain Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership at the appropriate level, prior to starting the new role or commencing employment in KSA, SCE membership must be maintained throughout their employment in this role.
