Salary: Circa £65,000 (dependent on skill and experience)

Role description:

In this role, you will act as the main point of contact for the Warship Support business on all security matters providing authoritative security leadership at Portsmouth Naval Base and across the wider Defence Solutions estate as required. You will report on and discuss security issues at relevant reviews with the Warship Support LT and work closely with key stakeholders, including the MOD. You will also act as the point of call for all Warship Support staff, with an ability to problem solve and add value by providing business focused pragmatic security advice.

Core duties:

• Lead security planning, assurance and operations for all programme and project activity
• Conduct security risk assessments, assurance activities and reviews to identify threats, vulnerabilities and required mitigations
• Ensure compliance with government and defence security standards and all contractual security obligations
• Drive and promote security awareness activities for Warship Support staff at Portsmouth Naval Base and other domestic locations as necessary
• Identify improvements in local security processes, business management systems and operational practices
• Produce Security Management Plans and manage Travel Risk Management for Warship Support overseas operations.

Essential skills:

• You will have expert knowledge of physical, personnel and industrial security within defence or high‑assurance environments
• You will have a good understanding of government and industry security policies
• You will understand threat intelligence, risk management methodologies and protective security control design
• Knowledge of BAE Systems security policies, processes and governance requirements is desirable

The Security Department:

You will be joining a vacated role within an expanding team that is responsible for physical and technical security across Defence Solution’s sites. You will be providing subject matter expertise, guidance and support to the Warship Support business, acting as a point of contact for various internal and external stakeholders, e.g. Royal Navy or the Warship Support LT. You will play a key role in maintaining accreditations, supporting programmes and, most importantly, business success.
