Salary: Circa £47,000 per annum depending on skills and experience

Job Description:

This role will focus on co-ordinating day-to-day transportation requirements, KPI tracking, and shipment visibility, while working closely with key stakeholders to ensure services are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and cost-effectively. You’ll play a key role in supporting carrier performance management and continuous improvement initiatives, using data and insights to help drive better outcomes and ensure we deliver a reliable and responsive transport service across the business. Sound knowledge of Transport and Logistics, with some project management skills are a must for this exciting role.

Core duties:

• You will develop and maintain strategic relationships and alliances with carriers and 4PL operations team
• You will provide specialist knowledge in transportation (inbound, outbound, import, export, routing and scheduling, freight audit and carrier performance management)
• You will lead performance of external 4PL transportation team providing expertise to inform decisions. Manage transportation services to meet the needs of the business
• You will champion the latest technical developments within the transportation domain to support development of effective transport operations
• You will work as part of the leadership team for group transportation to set policy and develop and deliver the transport plan
• You will promotes best practice internally and externally

Essential Skills:

• You will have excellent Project Management skills
• You will have awareness of commercial and technical agreements for Logistics providers.
• You must have worked with multiple 3PL’s before
• You will possess a high standard of competence with the Transportation area
• You will have cross functional stakeholder management skills
• You will have High Level Microsoft Excel skills

Shared Services Logistics Category Team

This team is part of the Procurement Indirect team (Transportation Operational Excellence Team) driving better outcomes from our 4PL and 3PL logistics partners. This involves measuring KPI’s from suppliers and looking at CI capabilities. The team also helps with supporting the delivery of our outsourced 4PL transportation operation, and helping to build strong, effective relationships with our carrier network.
