Role Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Training Specialist to join our Hunter Class line of business based at Adelaide.
Reporting to the Training Lead, you will be responsible for contributing to training instruction and development activities, as directed in accordance with the relevant project procedures and work instructions to achieve project technical, schedule and cost goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Training Needs Analyses (TNA) to identify capability requirements and support project readiness.
- Design, develop and maintain engaging learning solutions, resources and training materials aligned with project objectives.
- Deliver high-quality training through face-to-face, virtual and blended learning environments.
- Facilitate interactive learning experiences that build workforce capability, confidence and competence.
- Partner with stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure learning solutions are relevant, practical and fit for purpose.
- Develop and maintain training documentation in line with project, safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor training effectiveness, gather learner feedback and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of learning frameworks, tools, processes and best practices that support successful project outcomes.
About you
- You’re passionate about building workforce capability and creating engaging learning experiences that enable people and teams to perform at their best.
- Demonstrated experience analysing learning needs and translating business, operational and project requirements into practical and effective learning solutions.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and contemporary learning design methodologies, with experience developing training programs, resources and assessments.
- Confident facilitator with the ability to deliver impactful learning experiences across face-to-face, virtual and blended environments.
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts, ensuring learning solutions align with operational priorities and project outcomes.
- Strong communication skills, with the capability to transform complex technical information into clear, engaging and learner-focused content.
- Thrives in collaborative environments, working effectively across multidisciplinary teams while balancing competing priorities and delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Relevant qualifications in Training and Assessment, Learning & Development, Education or a related field are desirable.
- Holds a current defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain and a BASELINE clearance
The Hunter Class Frigate Team
The Hunter Class Frigate Program is transforming Australia’s shipbuilding industry by supporting the building of a world-class, continuous naval shipbuilding capability for our nation.
The Hunter class frigates are based on BAE Systems’ Type 26 Global Combat Ship design, modified to meet the Royal Australian Navy’s operational requirements.
Each warship will feature an acoustically-quiet hull and unique sonar capabilities, modular digital design and open systems architecture to facilitate through-life support and upgrades as new technology develops.
