Responsibilities

 

·         The Technical Services Lead main responsibilities, for their specialist field, include:

·         Provide a primary point of contact in Dhahran, KSA for any RSAF Tornado technical issues associated with area of responsibility.

·         Undertake technical support activities within their own area of responsibility, including liaison with the UK-based BAE Systems Technical Services Teams, RSAF staff at both HQ and Base level, MODSAP at all levels & subcontractors as appropriate, such that the Customer sees the job holder as a valuable asset in providing support and obtaining solutions to RSAF Tornado in-service issues.

·         Undertake technical support activities within own area of responsibility, including internal Tornado Support Service (TSS) stakeholders such as Maintenance and Supply Chain.

·         Through regular and direct contact with the RSAF HQ/KAAB, MODSAP, and internal TSS stakeholders, establish an accurate understanding of the Customer’s and TSS’s concerns and requirements, effectively communicating and solving issues between these organisations.

·         Raise and monitor the progress of KSA TSS Technical Queries and where possible ensure responses meet the Customer’s or TSS stakeholder’s expectations.

·         Support to Customer meetings including TSSSM, PIWG, LPR and others as they arise including internal reviews, pre-meetings, provision of data and slide pack generation, as required.

·         Support to internal TSS meetings as they arise including internal reviews, pre-meetings, provision of data and slide pack generation, as required.

·         Generating and reviewing presentation packs for meetings, tracking and drafting responses to actions from meetings to ensure compliance to suspense dates.

·         Maintain hard and soft copy files for all Technical Services senior meeting minutes and actions (TSSSM, PIWG, LPR etc.) plus others at the Technical Services Managers direction).

·         Attend meetings/workshops as requested by the Technical Services Team Management.

·         Monitor and review when required the following aspects and make recommendations to the Technical Services Manager: Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTOs) Service.

·         Technical Publication Deficiency and Improvement Reports (TPDIRs).

·         Material Deficiency Reports (MDRs).

·         Technical Query (TQs).

·         Provide ad hoc technical support and specialist advice to on-going Obsolescence investigations for systems, components and equipment related to their specialist field, at the request of the UK-based Obsolescence Team, or local internal stakeholders.

·         Review and draft Statements of Work (SoWs) as required, prior to them being submitted to HQ RSAF for approval and agreement for a CWP event taking place in KSA. Co-ordination of CWP duties during their visit, attendance and generation of KAAB/HQ in brief and out brief presentations to Senior RSAF officers as required. Additional support to the CWP as required and as directed by line management.

·         Gather information to monitor engineering performance of Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) related to their area of responsibility and with their experience and judgment, assist the RSAF in identifying actual and potential problems that can be resolved effectively and efficiently.

·         Secondary duties to provide cover for the other Technical Services Leads in their absence as required by the business.

·         Deputise for TSM as required.

·         Ensure awareness of all CAME sections and associated TSS procedures, relevant to area of responsibility.

·         Provide technical services awareness briefings to new arrivals, and visitors, as required.

·         Provide support to the annual review of Technical Services procedures.

·         Actively support audits of Technical Services, including support to the resolution of audit findings.

 

 

 

Job Requirements:

 

·         Essential:

·         Have at least 10 years post qualification practical maintenance/CA experience supported by formal record, including a minimum of 5 years within relevant CA environment.

·         Be educated to NVQ3/ONC/ONB/BTEC in a technical discipline related to their specialist field in aircraft maintenance, design or support subjects, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA.

OR

·         Part 66 licensed (current or elapsed), or suitable equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA.

AND

·         Saudi Engineering Council (SEC) Registration.

·         Desirable:

·         NVQ5/BTEC/HND or degree in a relevant technical discipline, acceptable to M&CA.

·         Incorporated or Technican Engineer with appropriate professional institute such as Saudi Council of Engineers, Royal Aeronautical Society or Institute of Engineering & Technology.

·         Experience and knowledge of RSAF practices and procedures.

·         Strong understanding and experience of: ▪Prime Contractor operations, ideally in a KSA environment.

·         Engineering Management.

·         Systems Engineering.

·         Good understanding and experience of: ▪Working in or alongside the RSAF EA and/or Support Organisations.

·         Must be able to demonstrate the ability to apply their technical knowledge and expertise to analyse, select, apply and review the optimal course of action to take, in order to resolve in-service issues.

·         It is essential that the job holder is self-motivated and capable of applying his knowledge and experience efficiently and without the need to rely on others.

·         Ability to communicate effectively to RSAF, MODSAP, other business units and other Stakeholders at all levels.

·         Excellent command of the English language in both written and verbal communications.

·         Have experience of preparing and presenting presentations at a senior level.

·         Have a sound working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
