About the OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Systems Engineers to join our dynamic CSI-IPT team. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the cutting-edge DDG (Destroyer) program, working on critical national defence projects. Our comprehensive program will provide a robust foundation in Systems Engineering through diverse teams, fostering growth into a skilled and capable engineer.
This role offers a unique chance to gain invaluable insights and practical experience from a collaborative and highly credible team of experienced engineers and technical specialists. You will be instrumental in supporting the delivery of complex engineering solutions for the DDG program.

This graduate position offers an unparalleled opportunity to launch your career in a critical and exciting sector. You will be part of Combat Systems Integration – Integrated Project Team. It’s a collaborative effort between the Department of Defence, BAE Systems Australia, Lockheed Martin Australia, and Saab Australia, working together to develop, integrate, test, and delivery of combat systems for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), working on projects that directly contribute to national security.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to engineering activities as directed by their team leader in accordance with the relevant project procedures and work instructions to achieve project technical, schedule and cost goals
- Assisting in the development, analysis, and refinement of system requirements
- Supporting the design, integration, and testing of complex combat systems
- Participating in technical reviews, workshops, and stakeholder engagements
- Documenting engineering processes, designs, and test results
- Collaborating with various engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration and functionality
- Identifying and escalating potential technical risks and issues
- Adhering to all safety, security, and quality standards and procedures
About YOU
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with systems engineering principles and methodologies (e.g., INCOSE) – Desirable
- Experience with engineering design tools (e.g., CAD, simulation software) – Desirable
- Defence security clearance NV1 or eligibility to obtain
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
