Salary £52,647 + (Commensurate with skills and experience)
What you’ll be doing
- Prepare and/or oversee the definition of system requirements, the development of specifications and the preparation of complex and business critical engineering designs.
- Develop, maintain and control the technical interface to customers, suppliers and collaborators to ensure effective and swift resolution of technical issues and to deliver contractual commitments.
- Ensure that designs produced consider the Design Safety, Design for Manufacture assembly, dis-assembly and end of life processing, Design to cost and Design for reliability and maintainability
- Validation of any systems / equipment, which may include the generation of test schedules, test and integration plans and the writing/investigation of test problem reports
- Liaison with internal and external stakeholders as necessary to discuss technical issues and problems resolving technical issues
Your skills and experiences
- Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline, with a demonstrated background within an engineering environment.
- Experience in use of Systems Engineering tools and techniques, including requirements management, product safety and validation and verification techniques.
- A good understanding of mechanical, electrical and software principles and their interfaces.
- Good working knowledge of technical office process standards, standard instructions and drawing standards.
- Knowledge and experience of lifecycle processes and exposure to testing, trials and qualification of designs.

In this role you will be working within the Engineering Function on the Research & Technology team, playing a key role in designing systems for business-critical projects, including development of new products using novel technologies.
