Job title: Senior Project Scheduler

Salary: £49,400+ depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Reporting to the US Programmes (USP) Master Scheduler the successful candidate will be responsible for planning and maintaining schedules to underpin high quality management reporting and contractual requirements
  • Working with a broad range of stakeholders that can include the main customer (Lockheed Martin), engineers, production planners, delivery leads and the broader project control community
  • Ensure robust alignment between cost and schedule toolsets, providing confidence in planning accuracy and decision-making
  • Conduct Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA) to identify, assess and communicate risks and opportunities, supporting effective programme delivery
  • Drive continuous improvement, proactively challenging existing ways of working and introducing more efficient and effective scheduling practices
  • Support and mentor junior colleagues, contributing to their professional development and strengthening overall team capability
  • Play a key role in transforming scheduling capability across the Air Sector, supporting the adoption of improved tools, processes and best practice

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in developing, maintaining and managing integrated project schedules, using industry-recognised planning tools such as OPP or Primavera P6
  • Practical working knowledge of Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA), with the ability to apply risk insights to support robust planning and delivery decisions
  • Solid understanding of Project Control principles, including planning, performance measurement and schedule assurance
  • Strong data reporting and communication skills, with the ability to analyse and present complex information clearly and tailor outputs to suit a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders

Desirable:

  • Experience of applying Project Controls and Scheduling governance & techniques in a US Contracting environment is highly advantageous
  • Recognised Project Management qualification (e.g. APM PMQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent), demonstrating a structured approach to planning, control and delivery

The Project Controls Team:

As a principal partner to Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems has been embedded in the F-35 programme since its inception, playing a vital role in driving aircraft readiness, availability and affordability as the global F-35 fleet continues to grow. Our UK and US teams deliver critical support services across the US Navy and US Marine Corps, including the AV-8B and T-45 Goshawk programmes.

This role sits within the central Project Controls function, operating across the Production, Development and Sustainment elements of the F-35 organisation. The team acts as the Centre of Excellence for scheduling within USP, setting the benchmark for best practice and shaping how scheduling capability is deployed across the wider Air Sector.
