Job Title: Senior Mechanical Technician

Location: Rochester, Kent. Onsite

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

Create and maintain manufacturing data packs, including technical drawings produced to industry standards such as BS 8888 and ASME Y14, applying GD&T to define and govern product requirements. Manage work packages for yourself and other Mechanical Technicians across one or multiple programmes, supporting the Team Leader in tracking progress and ensuring tasks are delivered to agreed schedules and budgets. Act as an authority for drawing and data approvals within data control systems such as Teamcenter, ensuring release procedures are followed and coordinating engineering changes through configuration management. Use and administer data management systems such as PDM-Link, ensuring engineers and technicians adhere to industry, departmental, and company policies, procedures, and standards.

Core duties:

• You will need a BTEC/ Higher National Diploma level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Technical Drawing, or related subject, or an equivalent combination of other qualifications and experience
• Ability to demonstrate your experience in preparing manufacturing data sets, including technical drawing, bills of materials, and change management documentation
• You will show competence in the use of CAD tools
• Demonstrate your proficiency in the CREO CAD system and experience using Teamcenter and Jira

The Manufacturing Technician Team:

The team provides mechanical engineering drawing support to develop and maintain manufacturing data packs for avionic systems. Technicians and design engineers work together to produce technical drawings, documentation, and change enablement, delivering work to industry standards while meeting programme schedules and budget requirements.
