Senior Maintenance Manager : Aviation

Role Description:
We have a new opportunity for a Senior Maintenance Manager – Aviation to join our Aerospace business on the Hawk Lead-in Fighter (LIF) aircraft program. This key maintenance leadership position will report to the Maintenance Operations Manager and will be offered on a permanent and full time basis.
Core Duties:
- Responsible for the fleet maintenance and airworthiness of the Hawk aircraft in accordance with safety, quality, cost, schedule and customer requirements
- Ensure there is sufficient maintenance personnel coverage to achieve the aircraft maintenance outcomes, and that personnel are adequately trained and authorised to perform aircraft maintenance activities
- Provide leadership to the team, coach and develop personnel, fostering a high performance culture
- Apply leadership and collaborate effectively with customers, internal and external stakeholders, establishing good relationships and maintaining a positive work culture
- Oversee aircraft and aeronautical product maintenance, ensuring it is performed, supervised and inspected in accordance with the instructions, orders and publications
- Provide leadership and an unwavering commitment to Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), ensuring safety compliance and standards of the maintenance workforce
- Identify and report on maintenance opportunities and risks and develop mitigation strategies
Essential Skills:
- Significant maintenance management experience inclusive of operational and production maintenance activities
- Tertiary engineering qualification or equivalent to meet requirements of Defence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR) to attain DASR Form 4 Delegation
- Aviation/aircraft maintenance industry experience, sound understanding of airworthiness and defence aviation safety regulatory (DASR) standards or equivalent
- Hold Engineering qualifications that satisfies the requirements for membership with Engineers Australia (MIEAust)
- Technical leadership and people leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to manage a team and provide effective leadership, direction and motivation
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal, coupled with the ability to work in a dynamic environment and make effective decision making under pressure

Leading the way for a fifth-generation air force, the Hawk Lead-In Fighter provides state-of-the-art fast jet training capability.
The Hawk is the world’s most successful advanced military jet trainer aircraft built on more than 35 years of fast jet training experience. More than 1,000 aircraft have operated across 18 countries, preparing more than 20,000 pilots for life in a fast-jet cockpit.
The Hawk Mark 127 Lead-In Fighter is a tandem, two-seater jet aircraft. Australia currently has 33 aircraft that have all been enhanced to ensure they remain cutting edge and future ready.
