Responsibilities

 

·         Lifecycle Management: Lead the installation, configuration, and migration of complex database environments, ensuring all systems are patched and updated to the latest stable versions.

      High Availability: Architect and manage disaster recovery (DR) and high-availability (HA) solutions (e.g., Oracle Data Guard, SQL Always On) to ensure 24/7 data access.

      Performance Engineering: Proactively monitor and tune database instances; optimize PL/SQL and T-SQL code, procedures, and triggers to eliminate bottlenecks.

      Data Security: Define and enforce rigorous database security protocols, including encryption at rest/transit, advanced access controls, and regular security audits.

      Backup & Recovery: Design and validate comprehensive backup strategies, performing regular recovery drills to guarantee zero data loss in the event of hardware or system failure.

      Data Modeling: Translate business requirements into efficient logical and physical database designs, ensuring data integrity and scalability.

      Capacity Planning: Forecast storage and resource requirements to ensure the infrastructure can support future data growth.

      Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with developers and system admins to troubleshoot database connectivity and integration issues without overstepping into network or OS management.

      Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all database activities meet organizational compliance standards and provide detailed reports on database health and security posture.

 

       Job Requirements:

 

·         Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

      Experience: 5 years of professional experience in enterprise Database Administration (DBA).

      Certifications: Professional certifications such as (Oracle Certified Professional or Microsoft Azure Database Administrator) are highly desirable.

      Platform Expertise: Advanced proficiency in administering, clustering, and upgrading modern platforms, specifically Oracle and MS SQL Server.

      Technical Depth: Expert knowledge of backup/recovery strategies (e.g., RMAN), data modeling, and performance tuning at the instance and query levels.
