Job Description:
You will join our Underwater Battlespace business as a Senior Commercial Manager, shaping and delivering commercial strategy across a fast‑moving, mission‑critical portfolio while leading a team of circa 10 commercial professionals. In this influential role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive value, strengthen customer relationships, and support successful programme delivery alongside winning bids and proposals. You will contribute to high‑impact, high‑value programmes while benefiting from considerable leadership development opportunities to support your growth and long‑term career progression.
Core duties:
- You will lead commercial strategy by shaping and delivering approaches for complex underwater defence programmes
- Provide expert commercial guidance across bids and contracts, including pricing, cost structures and risk management
- Working in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is essential to align commercial decisions with technical, legal, financial and performance needs
- Complex contract negotiations will be overseen, ensuring clarity on incentives, change, IP and through‑life support terms
- Ensure commercial governance in a creative and supportive way to drive effective risk management, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement, but in an agile and innovative way.
Essential Skills:
- Proven experience in a senior commercial or contracts management role within defence, aerospace, engineering, or highly technical environments
- Good commercial acumen with a deep understanding of pricing strategies, cost drivers, and programme financials
- Demonstrated success negotiating complex, high-value contracts, including long-term or through-life support agreements
- Flexible mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, complex, and evolving environment
