Responsibilities

 

·        Establish and maintain close working relations with RSAF, MoDSAP & Contractor personnel.

·        Establish an accurate understanding of the Customer’s concerns and requirements, through regular and direct contact with RSAF and Base personnel.

·        Be familiar with the Unit mission requirements, knowledgeable of the Operational and Quality Management concepts and understand the lateral functions of other activities.

·        Provide the MetCal Wing Commander with analysis regarding significant trends and results of weekly/monthly/yearly production.

·        Carry out all defined Inspections, Assessments, Evaluations, and Investigations as defined in RSAF Manuals.

·        Support the compilation of statistics and analyse data required.

·        Serve as the primary technical advisory agency for Maintenance, assisting the Laboratory Chief, Production Supervisors, Superintendents and Management in the resolution of quality problems within the MetCal organisation for all Secondary Calibration Squadrons.

·        Be familiar with all other specialty positions within the Secondary Calibration Squadrons throughout the KSA bases to ensure effective coverage of all Production work areas.

·        Support RSAF Headquarters Directorate of Aeronautical Engineering with the provision of timely answers, recommendations and Quality information with regard to Support Equipment.

·        In co-ordination with the Laboratory Chief conduct specific technical or project support investigations as necessary to support the above activities and to enable the evaluation of new data to clarify perceived problems in order to achieve the best result.

·        Be able to resolve issues that fall outside normal technical processes and procedures through innovative and creative thinking.

·        Have the ability to review task performance against set objectives and to adapt / react accordingly.

·        Have the ability to assume the role of Head of Operations (MetCal) during periods of his absence and effectively manage the duties and responsibilities of that position.

 

Job Requirements:

 

·        Should have operated successfully at a senior level in a complex technical production and/or training organization, with 10 years practical experience in a modern military or civilian technical environment.

·        Should hold a University Degree in an appropriate subject or other qualifications/experience as agreed by MetCal Wing Commander.  Preferably, will have completed formal training (civilian or military) in an electronic, electro-mechanical or instrument-mechanical area and have extensive experience in measurement and test equipment techniques and knowledge of principles of metrology and training.

·        Hold as a minimum a Higher National Certificate in an appropriate subject (e.g. Physics, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or Computer Science), or other qualifications as agreed by the MetCal Wing Commander.

·        Must possess appropriate English oral and writing skills and the ability to compose and construct clear and understandable letters and reports.

·        Must have the ability to identify future requirements of the RSAF Metrology Program and to develop strategic plans and initiatives to accommodate such requirements.

·        Must be highly organised and have the ability to multi task.  Must be able to communicate effectively with high levels of management within the RSAF and Company with proper tact, protocol and diplomacy.

·        Must be fully committed to acting and managing with the highest standards of ethical behavior at all times.

·        Must be familiar with, and able to use, Microsoft Office software applications to an advanced level and should be familiar with and able to use Management Information Systems at an advanced level.

·        Must hold a valid Saudi Arabian Driving License and be willing to travel at short notice.

·        Full knowledge of calibration methods of certifying measurement accuracy and an understanding of national and international metrology activities and technical exchanges.

·        Will have operated successfully at a senior level in a complex technical production organisation and have extensive practical experience in a modern military or civilian technical environment.

·        Ideally the candidate will be have extensive experience within the TMDE field and have at least two years managerial experience in a RSAF / Company position.
