Salary: £47,017 + DOE
Job Description:
You will be responsible for applying project control standards within a structured lifecycle across bids, proposals, and R&D activities, ensuring funding is effectively managed within budget and meets required quality standards. The role involves coordinating future resource planning to enable accurate forecasts and support key recruitment decisions. You will collaborate closely with finance to maintain a strong IBP forecast, while also producing performance reports, tracking metrics, and leading cross-functional meetings to support alignment and delivery.
Core duties:
- In this role, you will apply project control standards within a structured lifecycle framework across Bids and Proposals and R&D investments, helping ensure internal funding is managed within budget and to the required quality standards.
- You will coordinate all prospects for future resource profiles ensuring accuracy allows critical recruitment decisions
- You will also work closely with finance to ensure a robust IBP forecast.
- You will also produce performance reports and metrics, facilitate cross-functional meetings.
Essential Skills:
- Proficiency in SAP systems for effective project and financial management
- Recognised Project Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM, PMP)
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret and manage project costs
- Experience in forecasting and budgeting to support accurate financial planning
- Proven experience in project management or project controls within a structured environment
The Weapon Systems Project Control Team:
A team of seven supports activity across bids and proposals, R&D, and contract delivery projects. It includes project controllers at varying levels who focus primarily on contracted work, while this role operates in the early-stage, upfront phase. The wider team also collaborates with MRP controllers and product management colleagues.
