Job title: Principle Procurement Professional
Location: Weapon Systems UK, Barrow / Sheffield – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: £50,818 + depending on experience
What you will be doing:
- Reporting into either a Procurement Manager or Senior Procurement Manager. Responsible for managing and supporting a small team to discharge supply chain and procurement activities on a portfolio of suppliers
- Responsible for transactional and more detailed supply chain sub contract activity, including raising requests for Quotations, negotiating price and lead times, managing purchase orders and associated contractual requirements, expediting delivery and managing payments and sub contract change
- Understanding and being responsible for the requirements associated with managing data deliverables, supplier visits and supplier relationship management
- Responsible for the contract management requirements associated with supplier performance and improvement activity, including taking responsibility for proactive risk and opportunity management. Reporting of cost savings/ cost avoidance and delivering ongoing cost analysis and forecasting
- Responsible for delegated aspects of the development and agreement of supply chain strategies and promoting cross functional collaboration to ensure full engagement and buy-in to contracting strategies
- Overseeing and monitoring supplier assessment and due diligence activities for assigned areas
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal / external stakeholders, optimising engagement and communication at all times.
- Resolving a wide variety of routine problems and quality issues, escalating complex/ high impact issues when necessary
Your skills and experiences:
- Proven experience within International Purchase and Supply Management with Bid work experience
- Ability to analyse and interpret data to determine improvements and appropriate action required
- Understanding the concept of on time delivery, cost and quality through the successful actions of the Supply Chain
- CIPS or equivalent qualified or working towards/willing to undertake is desirable
