JOB PURPOSE
Provide payroll services in support of Kingdom wide operations of BAE Systems in accordance with Company Policy, Financial Procedures and Quality Standards. Undertake responsibility for full and final production and management of the monthly payrolls for all BAE entities within a SAP & Microsoft Office environment. This incorporates statutory and legislatory reporting and administration on SAP, generating payment files to the Bank and performing the monthly reconciliation and maintenance of key financial controls.
Provide support to both internal and external audit on payroll related matters. The Payroll Accountant is required to display a high level of accuracy and great attention to detail in this business critical role. The Payroll Accountant will provide cover and support for the Payroll Team Leader.
Responsibilities
· Process payroll transactions in line with prescribed company policies and timetables.
· Timely and accurate delivery of monthly payroll related payments and reports.
· Responsibility for the timely and accurate delivery of 5 monthly payrolls and the ability to deliver to a strict timetable.
· Support and delivery of the statutory requirements of GOSI / Tax / NI administration including both Monthly and Annual Returns.
· Co-ordinate a variety of HR Services, Finance Operations (KSA) and other department inputs, identify errors from these payroll inputs, ensure corrective action is taken by the appropriate department and advise on how to avoid future errors of a similar nature.
· Interface with external agencies and internal functions to ensure the management and delivery of payroll responsibilities. Agencies and functions include and are not limited to:
Ø BAE Corporate (Pensions Reporting)
Ø Standard Life (Pensions Reporting)
Ø KPMG (External Auditor)
Ø EY (External Tax Advisors)
Ø BAESAI (Payroll services as part of Service Level Agreement)
Ø UK Finance Shared Service
Ø Human Resources and base
Job Requirements:
Professional Certificate in Payroll Supervision qualifications are an advantage but not essential or qualified by experience. It will be necessary to remain fully conversant with current payroll legislation. Extensive IT skills will be considered an advantage – SAP, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
The candidate for the payroll role should have:
a degree in (Accounting) or
(related qualification with Active SOCPA membership)
and an experience of +2 years.
Knowledge of SAP is desirable.
Excellent level to communicate in English language.
