Job Title: Maintenance Optimisation Senior Engineer

Salary: £47,683+ dependant on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- You will be analysing, understanding and interpreting in-service maintenance data to generate a view of how equipment performance and associated maintenance burden impacts on availability
- This role will require you to provide at shoulder support to the on-base teams to aid fault diagnostics and subsequent rectification using known good fixes
- Ensure you are analysing, understanding and interpreting aircraft maintenance data to identify root causes of RMT (Reliability, Maintainability and Testability) issues
- Building robust relationships with the on-base maintenance community to ensure that experience and operating practices are taken into account during the analysis (Maintenance adherence)
- You will ensure you share best practice across all BAE Systems supported Typhoon operators
- This role will require you to liaise with multiple key stakeholders e.g. Engineering, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Procurement and Commercial functions to identify suitable recommendations for fixes in a dynamic timescale
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Previous on aircraft experience – ideal candidates will have P&D (Production and Development)/Rig/final assembly/on-base customer facing based knowledge
- Familiar with Typhoon aircraft monitoring, recording/reporting and maintenance toolsets/data i.e. ESS/IMS
- Experience with Typhoon engineering data/toolsets (TrilogiView/PLM)
Desirable:
- Experience in an aerospace environment with a sound knowledge of aircraft systems/equipment and maintenance activities (Structures, flight sciences, aerodynamics, systems)
- A Degree or HNC/D (or equivalent) in a STEM discipline or equivalent relevant experience
- IT literate with particular emphasis on MS Office Suite and especially Excel

The Global Reliability and Maintenance Programme team:
The Global Reliability and Maintenance Programme Team has a primary role of increasing the availability and reducing the through life cost of ownership of the Typhoon aircraft for all customers. This is achieved through analysing aircraft maintenance data and engaging with the Operators to understand:
• Aircraft on ground issues
• Key unscheduled and scheduled maintenance drivers
• Maintenance adherence issues
• No Fault Found issues
