IT SYSTEM ENGINEER
We are looking for an experienced IT System Engineer to
join our team and support the installation, configuration, integration,
testing, and maintenance of IT systems onboard naval vessels.
inspections, install IT equipment, configure software and network
infrastructure, and verify the proper operation of installed systems. The role
also involves ensuring seamless integration and communication with other
onboard equipment, carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance
activities, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing on-site technical
support
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Perform hardware inspections and install IT equipment onboard naval
vessels.
· Configure, deploy, and maintain software systems and network
infrastructure.
· Verify the proper operation of installed systems and their
integration with other onboard equipment.
· Conduct system tests and support commissioning and acceptance
activities.
· Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of IT systems and
equipment.
· Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system, database,
and network-related issues.
· Provide on-site technical assistance to customers and other project
stakeholders.
· Produce and maintain technical documentation related to system
installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance
activities.
· Record technical interventions and prepare relevant service and
maintenance reports.
· Cooperate with engineering, project, and customer teams to ensure
that technical requirements are met.
· Comply with applicable company, customer, occupational health and
safety, information security, and site security procedures.
Requirements
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology,
Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or a
related field.
· Alternatively, a relevant technical qualification combined with
equivalent hands-on experience as an IT Technician or IT Systems Specialist.
· Previous hands-on experience in IT systems, system installation,
field service, maintenance, or technical support roles.
· Experience in the installation, configuration, integration, testing,
or maintenance of complex IT systems is preferred.
· Ability to work independently, manage assigned tasks, and take
responsibility for technical activities.
· Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and problem-solving
skills.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Proactive, reliable, responsible, flexible, and adaptable approach
to work.
· Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and international
project teams.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
· Good understanding of networking technologies, including TCP/IP,
LAN/WAN, routing, switching, and network troubleshooting.
· Experience with relational databases and basic database
administration.
· Experience with virtualization technologies and virtual machines.
· Good knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
· Proficiency in Bash, command-line tools, and basic scripting.
· Experience in hardware installation, configuration, inspection, and
troubleshooting.
· Ability to read, prepare, and maintain technical documentation.
· Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
· Good written and spoken English, preferably at B2 level or above.
· Ability to understand and prepare technical documentation in
English.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
· Valid driving licence.
· Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites and work onboard
naval vessels when required.
· Availability for domestic and extended international travel.
· Ability to work in field conditions and adapt to customer and
project schedules.
- Ability to comply with the security, confidentiality,
access, and safety requirements applicable to military and customer sites
