Responsibilities

 

·         Teach: The job holder will be expected to Teach in the relevant subject area according to the approved syllabus

·         Conduct general technical courses not restricted to specific Weapon systems

·         Deliver or supervise demonstrations in the relevant subject area.

·         Conduct visits to relevant areas of interest.

·         Remove, install, inspect, maintain, modify operationally check and troubleshoot the hydraulic systems components, using both standard and specialist tool associated with both intermediate and organizational maintenance.

·         Assess: The job holder will be expected to:

·         Conduct regular assessments to ensure students are progressing academically.

·         Conduct phase-end examinations to ensure training objectives have been achieved

·         Discipline: The job holder will be expected to:

·         Adopt and promote independent learning and a military ethos in line with the training environment

·         Provide on-going evaluation of students discipline as part of their final assessment .

·         Counsel and motivate students, where applicable, on relevant academic and discipline issues.

·         Record: The Job holder will be expected to:

·         Record students’ academic assessment results.   Record students’ lesson attendance.   Record any discipline issues with students.

·         Report: The job holder will be expected to:

·         Provide regular reports concerning student’s academic progress, lesson attendance and

·         discipline.   Report any other relevant issues whenever required or deemed appropriate.

·         Develop: The job holder will be expected to:

·         Regularly review the relevant subject area’s courseware.

·         Recommend changes to the relevant course material.

·         Review and recommend changes to assessment material in the relevant subject area.

·         Apply RSAF procedures for configuration control of curriculum and courseware, including preparing documentation and supporting data for curriculum or courseware change requests.

·         Integrate new training materials or equipment into the relevant course.

·         Ensure all training equipment is properly maintained and stored.

·         Contribute to preparation of timetables, scheduling and allocation of instructors.

·         Operate: The job holder will be expected to:

·         Operate training and operational equipment related to his specialty.

·         Other Duties: The job holder will be expected to:

·         Ensure compliance with SHE policy and processes and Duty of Care responsibilities.

·         Undertake all mandatory and developmental training as required by the Company.

·         Adhere to acceptable standards of behavior, dress and performance as defined in Company policy.

·         Provide feedback to management to improve service performance and responsiveness and identify opportunities.

·         Perform additional tasks as requested by the customer that can be construed as a reasonable activity for a professional teacher / instructor.

 

Job Requirements:

 

·         Tornado Aircraft maintenance Instructor is to have the following qualifications and experience:

·         Must be a graduate of a Service or Civilian Technical Training Institute.

·         Must be qualified instructor and have completed a formal Instructional Techniques Course.

·         Must be a Tornado Aircraft Specialist.

·         Must have a knowledge of RSAFM 105-31 – Technical, Academic and Professional Training Procedures.

·         Completion of the RSAF Tornado IDS Aircraft Maintenance Specialist course no (55023).

·         Completion of the RSAF Tornado Aircraft weight And Balance course no (55066).

·         Completion of the RSAF Aircraft Maintenance Documentation Procedures (40188).

·         Must have a minimum of 5 years recent classroom experience as Technical Instructor.

·         A minimum of 8 years of experience working in equipment service and maintenance, appropriate to this field.

·         Must be TSP1, TSP2, TS3, and SD4, knowledgeable to include new equipment.

·         Must have Aircraft Maintenance experience.

·         Must have a sound knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical principles as applied to aircraft concepts.

·         Must have a sound knowledge of the RSAF Maintenance Management System RSAF Instruction (4-7166-1) and the Maintenance Document requirements and procedures (RSAFI 4-7120) series.

·         Computer literate, with a fully conversant working knowledge of Microsoft Office; especially MS Word and PowerPoint.
