TORNADO IDS SIMULATOR INSTRUCTOR – WSO

 BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia.  We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

As an IDS Simulator Instructor WSO your skills and qualifications must include:

·       Recent experience as a Tornado flight lead WSO with at least 250 hours of previous instructor time in any fighter aircraft.

·       Having in excess of 1000 hrs as a combat ready aircrew

·       Being a graduate of an academic instructor course or equivalent. 

NOTE:  Qualification shortfall is subject to Customer waiver

Responsibilities: 

As an IDS Simulator Instructor WSO you will be responsible to the RSAF appointed Simulator Officer for the training of RSAF Tornado pilots and WSOs. 

As an IDS Simulator Instructor WSO your duties will include, but not limited to:

 Conducting ground school for all RSAF Tornado courses

·       Conducting continuation training lectures and training based on the operational requirement of aircrews.

·       The possibility of acting as Standardisation Evaluation Flight Examiner to conduct simulator and other ground evaluation.

·       The possibility of being used as subject matter experts on other associated duties

·       Flight Planning including normal and advanced equipment.

·       Briefing, conduct and debriefing all missions.

·       Mission planning all phases of flight to ensure successful mission execution including desired tactics and employment options/techniques for all flight phases

·       Operating associated simulators and cockpit trainers to include egress training.

  • Train selected RSAF personnel to become qualified simulator instructors.
