It is a subject matter expert (SME) role with extensive knowledge of Supplier Management, covering Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality Domains, and the Support Engineering requirements necessary to meet the requirement to Industrialise elements of the Typhoon Support Solution through KSA Industry.
Significant stakeholder management is associated with this role, including RSAF Customer, KSA Industry and UK operational and Engineering teams. The Indsutrialisation activities on Salam are strategically important undertakings for Typhoon as well as our company alignment to Vision 2030.
Responsibilities:
· Ensure the deployment of an effective Technical and Quality Framework to manage the IKIP Team deliverables to the Salam Delivery Teams ensuring (with the relevant governance leads) that the competencies of the engineering, technical and specialist staff, and the quality of the IKIP technical deliverables, complies with relevant discipline standards.
· Production and implementation of the IKIP Technical Management and Quality Plans covering Industrialisation and Procurement Acquisition/Delivery/Support/Business Management activities.
· Day to day direction and management of the Technical and Quality elements of the IKIP Team.
· Taking the Technical & Quality Requirements and developing them into an appropriate set of Supplier Contract Requirements, which can then be flowed down into the external Industry Product & Service Providers.
· Supporting the production/maintenance of a set of Technical Capability and Quality Metrics which allows the performance of the IKIP solution to be assessed with opportunities for improvement to be identified to the business.
· Establish and maintain a Supplier Management Framework which ensures the Technical and Quality Management capability of each Supplier is understood, that the Supplier Approval status reflects the known capability, that any Capability Improvements are contracted as part of any Supplier Contracts, and that the appropriate levels of Supplier Assurance are carried to out to effectively address the risks to the business.
· Accountable for production and maintenance of a Supplier Management framework that ensures all Industrialisation deliverables, including those of any Product and Service providers contracted through the IIKIP Team, are acceptably safe, meet the requirements of the Salam Safety and Environmental Management Plan and support maintaining the safe delivery of the Salam Solution.
· Establishing a strong working relationship with the Salam Delivery Teams to ensure any operational issues associated with the IKIP deliverables are raised, and solutions defined and implemented, in a timely manner to maintain the safe and effective delivery of the Salam Solution.
· Ensuring that all Technical & Quality Management activities carried out by the IKIP Team and associated organisations are effective and results in work delivered on-schedule, to specification/quality, and within budget.
· Implementing and promoting the Programme Risk Management Plan and processes, including, accountability for the identification, management and mitigation of technical risks within the IKIP Projects.
· Formulating the Technical strategies for Industrialisation, including the effective transfer of technology from UK and European Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to Saudi Arabian Industry, and implementing them in a measured way across the business leading to successful First Article Verification activities supporting the OEM Licensing and Accreditation of each KPC.
· Ensuring that any inter-team dependencies are identified, their scope and content are defined with the dependencies reviewed and agreed with the relevant Supplier/Customer.
· Ensuring the IKIP Team Technical Organisation and supporting resource requirements are well defined, agreed with the Director of Engineering, reflected in the Salam Organisation and that a plan to ensure the timely availability of these resources is being worked both within Salam and with relevant other Key Stakeholders.
· Accountable to the Salam Industrialisation Director for the Technical, Manufacturing and Quality Management delivery associated with fit for purpose Industrialisation and Procurement solutions which meet the Customer Requirements, is compliant with the Salam QMS, and complies with all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements as a manager of managers.
Accountable to the Director of Engineering for the Technical, Manufacturing and Quality assurance and safety management activities associated with fit for purpose Industrialisation and Procurement solutions which meet the Customer Requirements, is compliant with the Salam Engineering & Quality Management Systems, and complies with all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
Job Requirements:
· A minimum of five years Prime Contracting and Supplier Management Experience
· A minimum of 5 years in-service/through life support engineering experience including knowledge of component repair and overhaul practises and procedures
· Have domain knowledge of RSAF and RAF operating procedures.
· Understanding of the IBP and financial processes, management processes, HR processes, BAE Systems and MOD Commercial processes
· Proven business acumen for objective decision making regarding resources, risk management, and engineering forward strategy
· Understanding of Project Management, Managing Sub-Contractors, Procurement, Supplier Selection and Approval
· Ideally with previous knowledge of Business with KSA, the KSA culture, and working with Saudi Industry suppliers
Ideally previous Typhoon Programme and Product knowledge and Industrialisation and Technology transfer experience.
· Be educated to Honours degree level in a Technically related subject.
· Experience of the development and application of engineering process, organisational design and functional governance
· Experience of managing and resolving complex engineering problems
· Thorough understanding of the application of Engineering Lifecycle Management
· Have proven experience in the technical management of aircraft programmes.
· Have a robust working knowledge of the design, qualification, assurance and supporting processes for aircraft and aircraft equipment
· Have a detailed understanding of the processes and policies governing the manufacture and production of aerospace components and practical experience in their application.
· Have a deep appreciation of the importance of Saudisation & Industrialisation to KSA and is able to develop supporting strategies to optimise the Salam solution in that regard.
· Have an understanding and knowledge of aircraft standards and regulations.
· Qualified Quality Lead Assessor (EN 9110 based)
