JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The Forward Maintenance Manager will be responsible for leading Line Technical Support and TSS Maintenance Control Team. You will be the main point of contact for all support provided by the TSS team to the RSAF flight line including aircraft rework. You will also be responsible for the leadership, management and coordination of all TSS teams working on the flight line. Ensuring these teams comply with all regulatory requirements, in accordance with the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) and applicable RSAF manuals. Holding the required authorisations and permissions to be able to sign off maintenance records in accordance with RSAF manuals and the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE). Your work involves a balance between leading the resolution of complex engineering issues and responsibility for team management including oversight of applicable rules and regulations
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Ensures aircraft maintenance records carried out by the TSS team on the flight line are completed and signed off in accordance with RSAF manuals and the approved MOE.
· Ensures TSS Maintenance Control team is effectively managed and effective and dynamic communication is maintained with the RSAF.
· Responsible for addressing all Quality findings and SORT’s within scope of responsibility.
· Responsible for the managing of all diversions (including sickness) to levels that enable the delivery of the contracted output.
· Responsible for Succession Planning and Business Continuity Planning within area of responsibility.
· Ensures suitably qualified and experienced personnel (SQEP) are available to carry out the required maintenance activities.
· Identified opportunities to improve and enhance the delivery of the service and actively encourages a Continuous Improvement culture.
· Deputise for the Senior Maintenance Manager as required.
· Holds and maintains the required authorisations and permissions to be able to sign off maintenance records in accordance with RSAF manuals and the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE), such as GOLDesp, Red-X, IMS and Mandatory and Independent authorisations.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential
· A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA, Relevant Degree in Engineering Discipline.
· Excellent leadership management skills and proven ability to supervise all levels of engineering personnel. Flexibility, enthusiasm, commitment and influence are also key to meeting the requirements of the role as is the ability to build teams and strong relationships.
· A sound understanding of the RSAF 4-1-7166 series and supporting technical publications applicable to their work area.
· Have at least extensive proven practical experience in maintenance of aircraft and aircraft systems; with additional education, experience and knowledge of aircraft regulatory policies.
· Extensive proven experience in a relevant management role.
Desirable
· Tornado Aircraft Systems Maintenance Course.
· Adept at managing Human Factors issues.
· Hold a current driving licence and RSAF flight line driving licence. Base security clearance is required.
