JOB PURPOSE 

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia.  We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

To perform fleet management and planning within the Fleet Management section of the Typhoon Support Centre (TSC) at Taif, KSA, in order to ensure that the RSAF Typhoon fleet is effectively managed and maintained in accordance with RSAF fleet plans and mandatory continuing airworthiness requirements, reporting to the Fleet Plans and Statement of Requirement (SoR) Team Leader

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

·        Support the creation of tactical and strategic fleet management plans for endorsement by the TSC Commander (TSC Cdr), taking in to account scheduled maintenance requirements, modifications and capability upgrades.

·        Monitor Flying Hour (FH) and Fatigue Index (FI) consumption across the Typhoon fleet and compile reports / recommendations for TSC Cdr’s approval in order to support fleet planning activities and ensure effective distribution of airframe life consumption.

·        Creation of Typhoon maintenance activity programmes issued through ESS updates in conjunction with Forward Operations and TSC Business Data in order to assess impact on fleet availability and recommend appropriate planning strategy.

·        Review Technical Instruction (TI) requirements with TSC Business Data personnel, Forward Operations and Supply in order to assess impact on fleet and recommend effective embodiment strategy for endorsement by the TSC Cdr.

·        Monitor maintenance scheduling effectiveness and compliance of Typhoon fleet against approved maintenance programme requirements.

·        Co-ordinate review of reports and recommendations issued by TSC In Service Data Analysis (ISDA) team in conjunction with TSC Technical Specialists and Forward Operations personnel in order determine appropriate actions or initiate further investigation.

·        Initiate ad-hoc analysis of Typhoon sub-system data by TSC ISDA team and relevant Technical Specialists in order to identify trends and opportunities for development and improvements.

·        Direct ad-hoc analysis of specific system in-service data by TSC ISDA and Technical Specialists in order to perform the Fleet Management task.

·        Develop and maintain TSC Processes and Procedures relating to fleet management and planning.

·        Generate and maintain status reports relevant to fleet management.

·        Undertake any additional, reasonable, tasks as may from time to time be requested by TSC and RSAF management.

·        Assist with providing structured On-the-Job training for RSAF and/or Saudi National fleet management staff, in form of training, coaching, work experience and mentoring as appropriate.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

·        Qualified to HNC, or equivalent, in an Aeronautical / Mechanical engineering discipline, with at least experience in an aircraft support/maintenance management.

·        Knowledge of aircraft fleet management principles and practices, including the requirements for continuing airworthiness management would be advantageous.

·        A knowledge of the Typhoon fleet management requirements of the Engineering Support System (ESS) and use of the Microsoft Office suite of programmes would be advantageous
