JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The role is responsible to the Fleet Management Support Service Manager and the Head of Typhoon Technical Support Service for the day-to-day service delivery and capability deployment of the Fleet Management Advisory Service (FMSS). Ensuring effective leadership of Safety, SHE and Quality Assurance across all FMSS related activities, including compliance with all related regulations, policies and procedures. You will ensure the FMSS team possesses the required resources and capabilities to effectively deliver the Advisory Service in line with all requirements. You will also ensure that the FMSS teams are lead, developed and motivated to ensure they are aware of and capable of meeting their accountabilities. Providing Strategic and Tactical Fleet Management advice in support of RSAF Typhoon Operations. Deputising for the FMSS Manager, as required, at both Senior Company and Customer events and reviews.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

Provide leadership of the Prime Contractor Fleet Management Support Service and provide advice to the RSAF Fleet Management Team on all Typhoon Fleet Management activities. These activities, specifically Fleet Management, Asset Management, Maintenance Planning & Tasking, and Capability Insertion are to be integrated and deployed through the RSAF Command Structure; the Integrated Logistics Operations Centre (ILOC) and Maintenance Operations Flight (MOF) to the RSAF Training and Operational Squadrons and Maintenance Organisations.

Develop jointly with the customer, through the Typhoon Fleet Strategic Steering Board the 10 Year Fleet Planning Master Data & Assumptions List. The RSAF Typhoon Force Priorities and the Strategic and Tactical Fleet plans which meet the operational requirements of the customer and the contractual requirements of the Salam Project.

Enhance and augment the Capability of the current Fleet Management Organisation by, developing and deploying fleet management policy underpinned by repeatable processes and procedures, developing and deploying modelling capability using the Witness Toolset and developing and deploying strategic and tactical planning capability using the Mxi LRP Toolset.

Provide advice to the RSAF Fleet Management Organisation in accordance with the Contractual Requirements of Annex B to Typhoon LOA 2 SoW, the RFL 47166-2 and the BAESSA M&CA Directorate Mandates.

Support the UK capability delivery teams, in terms of local support, RSAF engagement and adherence to Salam Information Management Governance.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential
-
Have extensive proven post qualification practical maintenance/CA experience supported by formal record, including extensive proven experience within relevant CA environment.
-
Have substantial proven experience in a relevant management role.
-
Able to describe or demonstrate a Familiar level of knowledge of Continuing Airworthiness, the aircraft types managed and the aircraft maintenance environment.

Have a Practitioner level of skills in Technical Instructions and aircraft modifications, fleet planning, and Reliability Programme and Aircraft Maintenance Programme management.

Leadership skills and proven ability to supervise all levels of personnel.
-
A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA
OR
· Part 66 licensed (current or lapsed), or suitable equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA.
· Saudi Engineering Council (SEC) Registration.
· Extensive experience in a high tempo operational environment in a Fleet Management or Maintenance position with knowledge of the Typhoon platform from a design or maintenance position.
· Expert level MS Office Suite.

Should have and be able to demonstrate sound oral and written two-way communication skills with the ability to be tactful, discreet and confident in dealing with people at all levels.

Should be able to work on their own initiative to resolve complex technical issues.

NVQ5/BTEC/HND or Degree in a relevant technical discipline, acceptable to M&CA.

Incorporated or Technician Engineer with an appropriate professional institute such as Saudi Council of Engineers, Royal Aeronautical Society or Institute of Engineering & Technology.

Broad project management experience.

Working knowledge ESS, Witness & IMS (LRP) toolsets

Understanding of BAE Systems Saudi Arabia business.

Political and cultural awareness in areas relating to BAE Systems Saudi Arabia business.

Fluent in English (IELTS 6.0 or above, for Saudi Nationals).

Thoroughly competent with all elements of Microsoft Office to aid the planning of all capability insertion activities and the preparation of all associated reports & briefings.

Knowledge of BAES Saudi Arabia business and the Salam programme.
