JOB PURPOSE 

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia.  We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

This role is responsible to the Fleet Management Support Service (FMSS) Team Leader through the FMSS Scenario Modeller for the following, Development of the PC Critical Asset Planning Tool. Development of ad hoc ‘What If’ asset management scenarios in order to provide advice to the PC Logistics Inventory Optimisation Supply team, PC Stakeholders and RSAF Fleet Management on all matters regarding assets on the Typhoon platform. Plans carried out and delivered in accordance with the RSAF Force priorities and integrated through the RSAF Command Structure, the Integrated Logistics Operations Centre (ILOC) and the RSAF and PC maintenance organisations

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Planning, managing and reporting of Major Critical Assets including, but not exclusively, Engines, Damocles LRP and Pylons

  • Monitor and report recommendations that could impact Salam contractual deliverables

  •  Continual analysis of asset data in order to identify areas for future improvement in planning, tasking optimisation and maintenance efficiency

  •  Provide proactive support and direction for on base RSAF stakeholders to ensure that all scheduled maintenance requirements, maintenance programme changes and operational requirements are planned and accomplished effectively.

  • Provide fleet direction to the other on base Salam stakeholders with regards to asset usage rates, Operator adherence, Scheduled and Corrective Maintenance.

  • Provide inputs for any formal reports as required by key stakeholders from RSAF, BAE Systems SA or BAE Systems

  • Enhance and augment the Capability of the current Fleet Management Organisation by developing and deploying fleet management policy underpinned by repeatable processes and procedures, developing and deploying modelling capability using the Witness Toolset and developing and deploying strategic and tactical planning capability using the Mxi LRP Toolset.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

Essential

  • Have extensive proven post qualification practical maintenance/CA experience supported by formal record, including a substantial minimum proven experience requirement within relevant CA environment.

  • Have proven experience in a relevant management role.

  • Able to describe or demonstrate a Familiar level of knowledge of Continuing Airworthiness, the aircraft types managed and the aircraft maintenance environment.

  • Able to demonstrate a Practitioner level of skills in Fleet Planning and Aircraft Maintenance Programme, plus a Familiar level of skills in Reliability Programme and Modifications management.

  • Leadership skills and proven ability to supervise personnel.

  • A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA. Or • Part 66 licensed (current or lapsed), or suitable equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA.

  • Saudi Engineering Council (SEC) Registration.

  • Ex-military with experience serving on an operational military flying unit or civilian experience with an industry partner in a fast jet role.

  • Experience in a high-tempo operational environment in a Fleet, Maintenance or Supply position.

  • Experience in Witness, LRP, MS Office applications

  • Broad Project Management experience

Desirable

  • Should have the ability to be tactful, discreet and confident in dealing with people at all levels.

  • Should be able to work on their own initiative to resolve complex technical issues.

  • NVQ5/BTEC/HND or Degree in a relevant technical discipline, acceptable to M&CA.

  • Incorporated or Technician Engineer with an appropriate professional institute such as Saudi Council of Engineers, Royal Aeronautical Society or Institute of Engineering & Technology.

  • Maintenance of inter-team dependencies across suppliers and customer boundaries.
  • Proven track record training and mentoring staff at a senior level.
  • High level of interpersonal skill to co-ordinate a large number of diverse and complex activities and the ability to communicate, influence and direct the decision making process at all levels.
  • The ability to act upon their own initiative within the scope of their job
