Job Title: Engineering Support System (ESS) National Data Specialist

JOB PURPOSE 

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia.  We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The Job Holder will interface directly with the RSAF at all levels helping their understanding of the Typhoon National Data Management whilst assisting with the development of Saudi National expertise in the Typhoon National Data.

 

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

·       Providing a focal point for Organisational Setup and National Reference Data changes and amendments within the ESS for the RSAF, implementing a stringent data policy regime, ensuring confidence across the fleet management area in support of the flying programme and Data analysis requirements of the In-Service Data Management Team community.

·       Managing and maintaining the RSAF ESS Role structure, liaising with maintenance Eng Auth controllers and the ILOC Eng Auth coordinator to ensure the appropriate scope of each ESS Role.

·       Ensuring all GSS applications are verified prior to application onto the RSAF ESS.

·       Carrying out periodic audits to ensure GSS applications have been applied correctly within the ESS.

·       Carrying out periodic audits of ESS to ensure users hold the appropriate ESS Roles relative to their position.

·       Assessing ESS Database amendments and implementing them as authorised by the RSAF HQ.

·       Testing Reference and Business data changes before their implementation into the live ESS system.

·       Resolving end user Data issues and supporting Data queries, using a live ESS.

·       Resolving Reference Data queries, defining amendments or issuing new data, together with issuing an implementation plan, authorising manual or automatic script file changes.

·       Applying RSAF approved changes to Industry provided Data when this Data does not conform to RSAF policies or might impact on the operation or maintenance of the Aircraft.

·       Holding regular planning and prioritisation meetings with the Senior Reference Data Specialist and Data Manager.

·       Developing and maintaining RSAF Processes and Procedures relating to ESS Data Integrity.

·       Assisting with the structured On-the-Job training for RSAF ESS Data Management Staff, in the form of training, coaching, work experience and mentoring as appropriate.

·       Providing assistance, when required, to all functions within the ESS Data Management Team including the Data Integrity Team (DIT) Business Data Integrity Team (BDIT).

·       Undertaking any additional, reasonable tasks as may from time to time be requested by TSC and RSAF Management.

 

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

·       Qualified to HNC, or equivalent, in an Aeronautical/Engineering discipline, with experience in aircraft support/maintenance management.

·       Knowledge of Typhoon Data management principles and practices, including the requirements for continuing airworthiness management.

·       Knowledge of the ESS and use of the Microsoft Office suite of programmes would be advantageous.  

·       Ideally from within BAE Systems, or currently serving within the RAF/RSAF, to ensure familiarity with Typhoon Data management requirements and maintenance management systems.

·       Candidates from a non-Typhoon fleet management background with other relevant experience gained with another air force will be considered where-by additional training can be provided
