Job Title: Engineering Support system (ESS) New Instruction Record (NIR) Specialist

JOB PURPOSE 

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia.  We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The purpose of this role is to interface directly with the RSAF at all levels, helping their understanding of the Typhoon NIR management, whilst assisting with the development of Saudi National expertise in the Typhoon business data.

 

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

·        Carry out assessment reviews of all nationalised technical instructions (TI) created by the Technical Instruction Team (TSC). The review is to focus on the applicability requirements, timings and ESS recording elements of the TI to ensure the intent of the TI can be converted to a New Instruction Record (NIR) on ESS.

·        Where appropriate, liaise with the TSC Fleet Planning team to plan NIR implementation strategy.

·        Create TI NIRs as required on release of RSAF Nationalised TIs and ensure the NIR is exported to all ESS Instances.

·        Ensure all TI NIR allocations are carried out, delegating to the Forward Data Management Cells (DMC) as required.

·        Ensure the TI NIRs are uploaded into the TSC NIR monitoring systems post NIR creation.

·        Carry out the ‘monitoring to completion’ of all NIRs, ensuring NIR completion timings are adhered to within the active fleets and mitigated within the non-possessed fleets.

·        Participate in the Operational Readiness Reviews (ORRs) for the introduction of Modifications (MOD) and Salam Advance Modifications (SAM). Focus on the applicability requirements, timings and ESS recording elements of the MOD/SAM to ensure the requirements are effectively converted to a New Instruction Record (NIR) on ESS and where appropriate, liaise with the TSC Fleet Planning team to plan NIR implementation strategy.

·        Create MOD/SAM NIRs as required on release of RSAF acceptance of the MOD/SAM and ensure the NIR is exported to all ESS Instances.

·        Ensure all MOD/SAM NIR allocations are carried out, delegating to the DMC as required.

·        Ensure the MOD/SAM NIRs are uploaded into the TSC NIR monitoring systems post NIR creation.  

·        Carry out the loading and verification of New Aircraft NIR data into ESS and TSC data management systems as required.

·        Assist with the consolidation training of RSAF/Saudi National BDIT Staff in form of ‘On the Job’ training, coaching and mentoring as appropriate.

·        Hold regular planning and prioritisation meetings with the Business Data Senior Specialist.

·        Be deployable to an in-kingdom MOB/FOB to assist with business data issues as required by the TSC Commander.

·        Be available for periods of ‘On-Call’ duties in support of on-going RSAF operations as required by the ESS Business Data Senior Specialist.

·        The ESS NIR Specialist, when required by ESS Business Data Senior Specialist, must be able to carry out the tasks of the ESS Asset Specialist and the ESS Business Data Issue Specialist.

 

 

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

·        Qualified to HNC level, or equivalent, in an Aeronautical / Engineering discipline, with previous exposure within an aircraft support/maintenance management role.

·        Knowledge of Technical Instruction data management principles and practices, including the requirements for continuing airworthiness management.

·        A knowledge of the Engineering Support System, (ESS) and use of the Microsoft Office suite of programmes, would be advantageous.

·        Familiarity with Typhoon ESS NIR management requirements and maintenance management systems.
