Location: Cowes, Isle of Wight or Portsmouth Broad Oak – hybrid 3 days weekly onsite
Salary: Up to £87,200 DOE + bonus scheme

Role description:
You will lead and coordinate full‑time engineering resources across assigned projects, spanning systems, software and hardware disciplines. This includes planning, forecasting and prioritising resources within project schedules, managing critical skills, supporting succession planning, and aligning recruitment needs. You will ensure engineering work packages are delivered to agreed cost, quality, schedule and technical requirements.
Working collaboratively, you will build good relationships with customers, partners and suppliers, representing engineering across internal and external activities. You will work closely with project and technical leads to ensure safe, compliant integration of products and services, managing technical risks, dependencies and emerging issues across programmes.
Core duties:
- Leading engineering delivery for EM and future product developments, acting as engineering authority and customer interface
- Planning, forecasting and ensuring engineering resources, supporting succession planning and knowledge sharing across the organisation
- Developing and maintaining engineering and project schedules in collaboration with project management and project controls teams
- Holding budget responsibility for EM and future product‑based projects, ensuring delivery to agreed cost and objectives
- Participating in internal and customer project reviews, providing clear engineering input and professional representation
- Supporting bid activities by coordinating engineering inputs, estimates, risks and technical baseline reviews
Essential skills:
- Degree, HND or HNC in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- Proven engineering management experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams and work packages
- Good understanding of the full engineering lifecycle, with experience across multiple phases
- Ability to apply business and engineering policies pragmatically to complex engineering projects
- Experience engaging stakeholders and delivering customer requirements through development, trials and in‑service support
- Radar domain knowledge, enabling effective technical challenge and resolution across engineering domains is advantageous
The Radar Systems Engineering team:
You will be working as an Engineering Manager within our close-knit multi-function radar team of inter-disciplinary engineers, evolving our radar portfolio of existing and brand-new radar products to address emerging and future threats.

Our workplace in Cowes is an easily accessible commute from Southampton with a regular foot passenger ferry and BAE shuttle service from the ferry terminal to site.
