Salary: £51,772+ depending on experience

Job Description:

The role focuses on coordinating engineering capability management across the team, supporting activities such as strategy and capability management, business reporting, continuous improvement, resourcing, communication, and governance. Working closely with Capability Engineering Managers and Heads of Engineering Capabilities across the Air domain, the role ensures that engineering capabilities are effectively integrated, monitored, and optimised to support programme delivery and organisational objectives.

Core duties:

  • Support engineering capability integration and governance activities across MSDT contract along with providing engineering capability integration support across functions to manage the MSDT capability
  • Development, maintenance and co-ordination of MSDT engineering / capability management plans
  • Drive the adoption of Agile toolsets & approach, at all levels of management across MSDT and GCAP, for Capability Management and business reporting, from a single source of truth
  • Facilitate and coordinate Capability & Governance Review and Technical Review meetings with internal Engineering/Project Managers
  • Support & champion Continuous Improvement initiatives, liaise with CI ambassadors
  • Lead and mentor junior members of the Technical Integration team 

Essential Skills:

  • Understanding of Capability Management principles
  • Knowledge of the Engineering Capability Management System
  • Experience integrating activities across multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Experience leading meetings and managing action plans
  • Proficiency with Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence
  • Working knowledge of Agile Scrum practices (Scrum Master and/or Product Owner experience/qualification advantageous)
  • STEM degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience

The Mission Systems Technical Integration Delivery Team:

You’ll be joining the Mission Systems Technical Integration Delivery team, a large and dynamic capability team responsible for designing, developing, and delivering PYRAMID-based mission system and software solutions, primarily supporting Future Combat Air Systems. Within this, the Engineering Capability Integration team plays a central role in driving strategy, capability management, business reporting, continuous improvement, resourcing, communication, and governance across the capability. In this role, you will coordinate engineering capability management activities, working closely with Capability Engineering Managers and Heads of Engineering Capabilities across Air. The position offers broad exposure across multiple engineering disciplines, management levels, and key stakeholders across BAE, providing opportunities to influence and integrate engineering capabilities across the business.
