JOB PURPOSE

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia.  We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The Engine Systems Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, operating, maintaining and repairing engine and fuel systems, and components on the Hawk aircraft and support equipment. Using all resources available they will maintain aircraft to support the demands of the flying operation, thus ensuring delivery of serviceable aircraft to accomplish the contractual operational and flying commitments. They will also be responsible for carrying out maintenance, diagnosing faults and administrative support to the AMO as directed by the Engine Supervisor; including but not limited to complying with all relevant company policies. Ensuring the Approved Maintenance Organisation is compliant with the requirements of the M&CA Mandates and Pt145 Maintenance Organisation Exposition with regards to maintaining aircraft, its components and resource SQEP levels. Responsible for On the Job Training of any assigned trainee.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

The Tracking Supervisor is a key link between BAE Systems AI and the Royal Saudi Air Force. The role of the Tracking Supervisor is to manage the technical and administrative operation of the tracking cell relating to all aspects of the RB199 engine and Secondary Power Systems of the RSAF Tornado fleet. The job holder is responsible to ensure configuration control is maintained across the Tornado fleet ensuring maintenance is carried out at the correct intervals, ensuring the continued airworthiness of all engines and secondary power systems.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

The following accountabilities are an overview of the main responsibilities of the Supervisor role and is not an exhaustive list, a number of minor accountabilities are present in the day to-day operation which the Supervisor must maintain. The position holder will be accountable for the following 

• To provide Configuration Control, Asset Management, Maintenance Support and Logistics Support for RB199 engines and Secondary Power Generation Systems fitted in RSAF Tornado fleet. 

• Act as the link for all communication between multiple work centres/departments.

 • Ensuring that BAEMMA data is correctly input and maintained utilising accurate information and cyclic rates.

 • Work to maximise flying hours and avoid losses to the RB199 and SPS assets by maintaining a scheduled maintenance program 

• To lead, develop, and manage a department of multi-nationals with varying skill and knowledge levels 

• Offer advice and guidance to both the RSAF and BAE Systems AI on data recording procedures and best practice to eliminate errors in data collection

• Perform regular checks of the BAEMMA system and physical log cards to ensure all data present and correct, and there are no discrepancies between systems

 • Create, maintain and manage historical records and events both electronically and by use of RSAF Maintenance Data Recording Systems

 • Record and Implement T.C.T.O.’s (Time Compliant Technical Orders) and maintain accurate records of completion and historic data 

• Understand and implement current life/usage policies and ensure any changes to policies are managed, and the appropriate departments are aware of any changes

Essential: 

• A recognized qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA. 

• Have at least 7 year’s post qualification practical maintenance experience within operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training. 

• Holds 2nd signature

 • Excellent leadership management skills and proven ability to supervise at all levels

 • Be fluent in English. 

• The successful candidate, Saudi or Expatriate must obtain Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership at the appropriate level, prior to starting the new role or commencing employment in KSA. SCE membership must be maintained throughout their employment in this role. Desirable: 

• Thorough understanding of company processes and procedures. 

• Knowledge of EASA Part 145.

• Broad aerospace and defence company / industry knowledge.

 • Experienced – Certifying Technician and extensive BAE Systems supervisory experience within the area of definition
