Electronics Test Technician

Role Description:
We currently have two exciting full-time, permanent opportunities available within our Advanced Manufacturing team based at Edinburgh Parks, SA for Electronics Test Technicians. Drawing on your experience in Defence, Aviation, or another highly regulated environment, you will apply your RF and component-level electronics expertise to diagnose, test, analyse, and repair newly assembled and field-returned products. Working with advanced test equipment, you will test Printed Circuit Boards and Assemblies, investigate faults, perform root-cause analysis, all while meeting contracted delivery targets.
Core Duties:
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on electronic and electrical equipment to support operational readiness and product performance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot component-level faults using a range of electronic and electrical test equipment.
- Investigate equipment failures, identify root causes, and analyse trends to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare clear and accurate technical reports, test documentation, maintenance records, and investigation findings.
- Support the integration, repair, and validation of field-returned products, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Utilise specialised test and diagnostic tools to assess product performance and recommend corrective actions where required.
Essential Skills:
- A Certificate III in Electronics (or equivalent) and relevant industry experience gained within Defence, Aviation, advanced manufacturing, or another highly regulated environment.
- Proven RF (Radio Frequency) experience, with the ability to test, diagnose, and troubleshoot RF and electronic systems at the component level.
- Strong fault-finding and root-cause analysis skills, including investigating test failures, interpreting results, and resolving complex electronic and electrical equipment issues.
- Hands-on experience using electronic test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, network analysers, and signal analysers to perform testing, verification, and repairs.
- A proactive problem-solver with strong electronic theory knowledge, technical reporting skills, and a willingness to learn.
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
