Role Description:
We are currently looking for a Category Specialist to join our team based in Adelaide, SA or Melbourne, VIC.
As a Category Specialist, you will be responsible for the establishment, placement and management of the appropriate contracting arrangements with capable suppliers to deliver the cost, schedule, quality
and safety requirements of the business, which, through effective relationship and performance management, maximise value and minimise risk.
Core Duties:
- Act as a member of the category management team, collaborating with and providing category specific direction and advice to the procurement team, all lines of business.
- Manage category/enterprise level supplier negotiations and finalise supplier agreements in accordance with set procedures.
- Run full end to end procurement process.
- Applying strong commercial skills to facilitate umbrella-style contracting and enable efficient execution of Enterprise Agreements (EAs).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on category initiatives.
- Apply project management skillset to delivery of procurement projects, ensuring delivery on time and on budget.
About You
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end procurement is required for this position.
- Demonstrated experience in the development and negotiation of contracts with key suppliers.
- Defence industry experience would be highly regarded.
- Previous experience working within engineering/engineering consultancy will be advantageous.
- Ability to effectively manage stakeholder expectations and deliver on commitments.
