Job Title: Avionic Operator

Location: RAF Marham – Onsite

Salary: £36,443

What you’ll be doing 

  • Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with the Approved Technical Information and relevant risk assessments.
  • Ensure all activities are appropriately documented and that all airworthiness records are maintained
  • Compile appropriate reporting, identify any issues and escalate as appropriate
  • Procedure/Standards – Complying with the Organisations MOE, its associated procedures and standards, and any other company procedures and standards.
  • Safety Management System – Understand and apply human factors, error management, within maintenance.
  • Continuing Airworthiness Assurance (Quality) – Ensuring maintenance activities are compliant with the Continuing Airworthiness Assurance Management system
  • Undertaking a range of maintenance on an aircraft which may include, as appropriate, aircraft role changes, component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and/or functional/system test.
  • Undertake and complete maintenance instructions and schedules for planned and un-planned tasks, which may require undertaking diagnostic procedures, in accordance with tasked work package (s) for the aircraft

Your skills and experiences

Essential:

  • Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent military qualifications
  • Academic qualification for this role is a minimum of City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent

Desirable:

  • Demonstrable evidence of recent progression towards an EASA Part 66 B2 Aircraft Engineers Licence with an aircraft of commensurate complexity to F35
  • Experience of working within and the practical application of EASA/MRP Part 145
  • A logbook demonstrating breadth of experience, currency & recency of skills, knowledge and authorities for working on Aircraft type or in workshops
  • Experience of working on complex military aircraft programmes
  • F35 Aircraft Type training

The F-35 Maintenance team

The F-35 Aircraft Maintenance Team undertake a range of activities on F35 aircraft or aircraft components. This role is to work effectively within a team of 12 Maintainers, in a diverse and dynamic operational environment. This will involve construction of the approved Technical Information set and competence to work to maintenance instructions with support and in accordance with the organisation’s MOE.
