Armaments & AGE Team Lead
The
Armaments, Avionics & Survival Equipment Workshop Controller is Responsible for
ensuring that all off aircraft maintenance work is performed to approve data
and quality standards. Reporting to the Deputy Depth Maintenance Manager for
the organisation, administration, control and efficiency of the Part 145 Bay
Operations. The post holder will have a high-level understanding of Armament
& AGE trades and will be required to think and
plan tactically to respond to the constantly changing environment in terms of
the customer and product changes/customization
interaction with the QAF support staff and will be responsible for planning
maintenance events through the effective scheduling and optimisation of the
Part 145 maintenance facilities capability and capacity. Ensuring agreed work
packages and maintenance events are scheduled, resourced, executed and managed
to plan and cost, with a clear understanding of the customers’ requirements and
agreed time scales.
- Leading and managing the production and
delivery of the associated work packages, including the technical instructions,
resource and materiel requirements for the individual maintenance activity,
ensuring independent inspection and safety critical task requirements are
documented and appropriately identified. - Provide planning and oversight to additional
and emergent work during maintenance, including deferment, to ensure work load
is managed effectively against schedule requirements. Ensure the statement of
work is updated and re-authorised to reflect any changes. - Responsible for ensuring that all off
aircraft maintenance work is performed to approved data and quality standards. - Reporting to the Deputy Depth
Maintenance Manager for the organisation, administration, control and
efficiency of the Part 145 Bay Operations - Requires the ability to think and plan
tactically to respond to the constantly changing environment in terms of
Customer and product changes/customisation, therefore, it also demands the
capability to organise resource balancing/training to meet changing standards. - Requires interaction with the customer
and Qatari Air Force (QAF) support staffs. - Provide Information, Statistics and
Data as required for input to the Operational Performance Review. - Undertaking direct management responsibility
and Performance and Development - Ensuring that all maintenance activities are
appropriately documented and airworthiness records are maintained on relevant
systems (IT/paper based). Compile required reporting, identify any issues and
escalate as appropriate. - Reviewing and reporting on the effectiveness
of maintenance task performance in AGE and escalate any issues as appropriate,
including additional/emergent work. Ensure any trends are identified, generate
effective resolution, or sponsor escalation to management, as appropriate. - At a tactical level have effective
relationships with Fleet Planning, Demand Management, Part 145 organisation,
Technical Services, Airworthiness Records and third party suppliers in order to
deliver the required standards of Armament and Aerospace Ground Equipment
maintenance. - Maintaining control and oversight of QAF
consolidation including logbook progression and bespoke support to enable
completion of contracted obligations. - Provide input to Continuous Improvement
activities, to improve schedule effectiveness of AGE maintenance and identify
opportunities for optimisation of maintenance tasking and execution.
- Performance
indicators – Ensure the effective management of Regulatory activities by
setting delivery targets, monitoring progress and developing performance
improvement programmes. Prioritises activities within/across teams to maximise
efficiency. Responsible for the assessment of escalated issues for any impact
on Continuing Airworthiness and generating effective resolution, or sponsoring
escalation to management, as appropriate. - Procedure/standards – Comply with
the Regulatory Framework, its associated procedures and standards and any other
Company procedures and standards, as applicable. Identify and propose changes,
as required. - Management System
Assurance – Ensure maintenance activities are compliant with the Governance
and Assurance framework, including supporting Process Confirmations and
independent assurance audits. Support the response to audit findings in a
timely and appropriate manner and provide information to support the relevant
reviews. Support the implementation of identified improvements to overcome any
non-compliance and monitor effectiveness. - Continuing
Airworthiness Assurance (Quality) – Management and application of the
CAA system within Airworthiness Records, including supporting audits,
responding to findings in a timely manner and providing relevant information
into the appropriate reviews. - Statutory/Regulatory
& Legislative requirements – Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of
understanding and application of the relevant Continuing Airworthiness
Regulatory Framework. Support the implementation of any regulatory driven
changes into the Maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with all other
requirements, e.g. ITAR, EaPW, ISO, etc. - Contractual
Requirements – Comply with all
applicable contractual requirements.
Requirements
Knowledge:
- Completion of an Engineering
Apprenticeship (for example a City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 or equivalent), ideally in Aeronautical
Engineering and / or a recognised Engineering Degree from either aeronautical,
mechanical, electrical, electronic, avionic or other studies relevant to the
maintenance and continuing airworthiness of aircraft Fully experienced and competent in hands-on Customer Support by
providing a complete service to the customer. - 2 years practical experience and expertise in
the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
- Minimum
6 months experience on type (in the last two years). - A good
understanding of relevant Acceptable Means of Compliance documentation
set.
- Formal Production Planning and Control
training. - Strong people management and motivational
skills. - Operational and business
management, especially within the aircraft maintenance environment. - Knowledge of managing
and implementing effective safety management systems (SMS) in aircraft or
related environment. - Human Factors- Standard Course
