Responsibilities
· The Hawk T-165 Aircrew Instructor (AI) is a key member of the KFAB O&AT Flying Operations delivery team.
· The Aircrew Instructor (AI) will contribute significantly to the O&AT Hawk T-165 Service Delivery (SD) of KFAB Hawk T-165 training.
· During O&AT sustained SD, the Aircrew Instructor (AI) will contribute to the coordination, update and delivery of the KFAB Hawk T-165 training service.
· The Aircrew Instructor Supervisor (AIS) is the line manager for the Aircrew Instructor (AI).
· The Aircrew Instructor (AI) role has been specifically designed to include ground based tasks and responsibilities traditionally completed by Instructor Pilots (IPs). This allows the IPs to focus specifically on instructional events rather than administrative support events, allowing for a more efficient use of the Flying IP staff, ultimately creating a cost saving to the company whilst ensuring quality service delivery to the customer.
· The role requires the Aircrew Instructor (AI) to deliver or manage a wide spectrum of tasks. In doing so, the Aircrew Instructor (AI) must be able to deliver in a timely manner, whilst maintaining competency in teaching complex technical aircraft and mission systems. Balancing work load and task prioritization are amongst the challenges that will face the Aircrew Instructor (AI) during his employment.
The Aircrew Instructor (AI) is responsible for supporting the O&AT SD. To discharge his O&AT responsibilities the Aircrew Instructor (AI) is to:
· Deliver Hawk T-165 Technical Ground School Training.
· Deliver Aircrew Training Device (ATD) console operations as required.
· Deliver Human Factors and Flight Safety Training support as required.
· Manage Aircrew Publications library including amendment processing and distribution.
· Coordinate and conduct Ground School scheduled events IAW RSAF and BAESSA training and governance policies.
· Maintain Ground School Instructional standards and ensure Ground School output meets or exceeds customer requirements.
· Support Flying Operations management, instructional and support staff to ensure the flying training service utilizes best practice and delivers an optimum solution for KFAB Hawk units.
· Coordinate other Ground School currency, competency training, evaluation and administrative tasks as determined by the Aircrew Instructor Supervisor (AIS).
During typical RSAF Trainee training, the Aircrew Instructor (AI) will be employed for routine instructional duties.The Aircrew Instructor Supervisor (AIS) will provide direction to the Aircrew Instructor (AI) for role specific tasks. The Aircrew Instructor (AI) may be assigned to work for other elements within the Flying Organisation to provide support in specific areas.The Aircrew Instructor (AI) will be scheduled in accordance with the Squadron Working Guide and daily schedule, in order to:
· Deliver scheduled training to the required standard on the Hawk T-165.
· Deliver scheduled training to the required standard on the Hawk T-165 Integrated Procedures Training (IPT).
· Deliver scheduled training to the required standard on the Hawk T-165 Egress Training Device (ETD) and Ejection Seat Training Device (ESTD).
· Deliver scheduled ground training to the required standard in the Hawk T-165 Multi-media Computer Based Training (MCBT) classroom.
· Utilise the Flying Operations Training Management Information System (TMIS) and Learning Management System (LMS).
· Update courseware utilising the Learning Content Management System (LCMS) and iaw DSAT processes.
· Administer and grade Trainee ground-based examinations.
Performance will be reviewed in accordance with the BAE Systems Personal Development Review (PDR) process. The PDR process is to be managed by the Aircrew Instructor Supervisor (AIS).
Job Requirements:
Essential:
· Ex-Military Instructional Aircrew who have operated in a crewed environment.
· One of the following qualifications; Qualified Weapons Instructor (QWI), Qualified Flying Instructor (QFI), Qualified Navigation Instructor (QNI), Instructor Weapons System Operator (IWSO) or hold an Aircrew Ground Instructor qualification.
· Able to deliver clear and concise ground school lectures, briefs, presentations and reports.
· IT literate with the current Microsoft Office programs and tools.
· High standard of spoken and written English language to International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 6.01 or equivalent for non-native speakers.
Desirable:
· Previous Instructional experience with RSAF or GCC personnel.
· Qualified Human Factors Facilitator or Instructor.
· Qualified Performance Coach.
· Experience in Training Management Information System (TMIS) or Flight Pro.
Able to apply the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) and be conversant in:
· Training Situational/Needs Analysis capture, development and creation.
· Syllabus development.
Conversant wit the following document sets:
· RSAF Manual (RSAFM) 1500 series for Aircrew Training and Currency.
· RSAFM Flying Order Book (FOB).
· Aircraft Flying Manuals, Normal and Emergency checklists, Weapon Checklists and performance data manuals.
