Role Description:

The Facilities Services Planner is responsible for planning and coordinating preventative maintenance activities for shipyard infrastructure, facilities, and assets. The role manages asset information within the MEX Asset Management System, ensuring maintenance activities are effectively scheduled and reported to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Core Duties:

  • Maintain accurate asset information for shipyard facilities, infrastructure, plant, and equipment.
  • Administer and maintain asset records within the MEX Asset Management System, ensuring data integrity and reliability.
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor preventative maintenance activities for new and existing assets.
  • Develop and maintain maintenance and asset performance reports, providing clear visibility to stakeholders.
  • Monitor maintenance systems, highlighting outstanding actions, compliance requirements, ISO 55001 asset management obligations, internal audit findings, and emerging risks.
  • Support the management of shipyard assets through effective maintenance planning and asset lifecycle information management.
  • Provide the Site Maintenance Manager with visibility of current and future maintenance activities, priorities, and workload forecasts.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and service providers to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of shipyard facilities and infrastructure.

About You

  • Australian citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain the required clearance level. (Essential).
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong experience in all Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Previous experience in defence or related industry and understanding of shipyard operations.
  • Minimum Cert IV Trade based qualifications in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical or Equivalent.
  • Previous Maintenance Planning experience would be an advantage.
  • Well-developed self-management skills and demonstrated ability to work under your own initiative to deliver outputs to time, quality and cost.
