Job Title: Weapons-Aircraft Integration Lead

Salary: £55,000-£60,000 depending on experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead definition and oversight of Sting Ray torpedo to Poseidon P-8A weapon integration, test planning and execution
- Support the Sting Ray Systems Design Authority to attain design certification and acceptance of Sting Ray torpedo integration to the Poseidon P-8A platform
- Define and deliver a comprehensive strategy for integration of the Sting Ray torpedo to the Poseidon P-8A aircraft supported by production of estimates, a detailed plan, work breakdown structure, and resourcing requirements
- Ensure weapon integration meets all contractual, governance, regulatory and legislative requirements
- Define and realise acceptance strategies, to verify requirement compliance of weapon integration, co-ordinating production of all necessary customer acceptance evidence
- Liaise with the end customer to agree stages of integration, acceptance and trials strategies
- Support the Sting Ray Systems Design Authority to attain design certification and acceptance of Sting Ray torpedo integration to the Poseidon P-8A platform
- Provide, review and adhere to specifications in accordance with stakeholder requirements
Your skills and experiences:
- Experience of the integration, qualification and certification of weapon systems for delivery platforms, especially in the aircraft domain
- Experienced in the principles and approaches underpinning design and development activities and demonstrates good understanding, knowledge and experience of systems integration
- Experienced in leading and coordinating multi-disciplined engineering teams in the delivery of time critical projects
Desirable:
- Has experience of setting up and working within MAA DAOS legislation and governance standards
- Have awareness of appropriate Systems Engineering standards (e.g. ISO 15288)
- Experience of all aspects of an engineering lifecycle and expert knowledge of lifecycle models (e.g. Waterfall, Agile) and associated tools (e.g. JIRA)
- Be either (desirable) Degree or HND/HNC qualified or have good technical and professional experience in a mechanical or electrical discipline

The Sting Ray P-8A Integration team:
The Integration of the Sting Ray torpedo onto the P-8A maritime patrol aircraft, No been done in the UK for over 10 years and will provide the UK government with flexible options maintaining free and open shipping lanes
The Team is a mix of dedicated P-8A individuals and SME’s working on the future torpedo variants – Working with sub-contractors for expertise in air carriage and delivery including static torpedo tests. The Customer is a combination of both weapon and aircraft authorities who have not done this activity previously with a requirement for the US to conduct initial flight trials with trials aircraft.
