Job Title    Industrial Placement Air Software Engineer 

Location    Warton/Samlesbury (Lancashire)

BAE Systems do offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however it is expected on our Industrial Placement programme you will be required to attend your site 3-4 days per week. Please note, this may be subject to change in line with the needs of the business. The hybrid working arrangements including which days you are required to work on site/remotely will be outlined by your line manager.

What you will be doing
You will work collaboratively with your team to create cutting edge software for our platforms and be involved in the entire lifecycle of a product, from concept, design and development through to delivery and maintenance in service. 

You will be expected to work closely with engineers from multiple adjacent skillsets including systems design, test, modelling and qualification/certification. 

Duties and Responsibilities
•    Completion of allocated requirements, design and implementation, and test tasks to a high standard, and within schedule and estimates.
•    Software development of solutions, and testing of completed functionality.
•    Accurately reporting on progress and providing feedback to team members and leadership.
•    Production of appropriate technical documentation.
•    Participation in peer reviews of own and others’ work products.
•    Adherence to project processes and software development practices and Configuration of completed work.

Skills
As a minimum requirement you’ll need to be on track to obtain a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Software Engineering / Software Development / Electronic Engineering or a related subject.  

To be considered for this role you must be returning to university to complete your degree.
