Salary £22,000
BAE Systems do offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however it is expected on our Undergraduate Programme you may be required to attend your site up to 3days per week. Please note, this may be subject to change in line with the needs of the business. The hybrid working arrangements including which days you are required to work on site/remotely will be outlined by your line manager.
What you will be doing
This role provides a great foundation for commercial management. Learning about contract terms, change management and negotiation provides an insight into general business management. The principal purpose of the Commercial function is to manage and develop constructive, long-lasting relationships with customers, suppliers and partners. With our diverse portfolio of products and our global presence, there are opportunities to get involved in something different around every corner. The role offers real opportunities to engage across the organisation and will involve interacting with a range of different people within the business, and gain exposure of dealing with our global customers directly.
Working in either the Estimating discipline or Contracts discipline of the Commercial function also provides the opportunity to support the generation of bids and proposals to Customers that are priced, developed and approved within the Business.
Specific activities could include;
• Understanding and influencing Customer requirements.
• Collaboration with Procurement in establishing the basis of subcontract cost and terms.
• The negotiation of innovative, appropriate and acceptable business agreements and contracts including associated amendments for the sale of BAE Systems goods and services
• The negotiation of payment profiles and associated terms to meet the cash flow requirements of the business.
• Active participation in contract launch activities to ensure all parts of the organisation understand obligations and commitments.
• The closure of completed contracts including, where appropriate, the negotiation

Skills
As a minimum requirement you`ll need to be on course for achieving a 2:2 in a Bachelors Degree in either Business, Commercial, Law or Project Management.
To be considered for this role you must be returning to University to complete your degree.
