Job Title    Undergraduate Combat Systems Project Manager
Location    Broad Oak (Hampshire)
BAE Systems do offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however it is expected on our Undergraduate Programme you will be required to attend your site 2-3 days per week. Please note, this may be subject to change in line with the needs of the business. The hybrid working arrangements including which days you are required to work on site/remotely will be outlined by your line manager.
Salary       £22,000 Pro Rata

We design and build a full range of naval ships from offshore patrol vessels through to giant aircraft carriers, giving customers the capability to fulfil extensive naval operations around the world.  We are the only provider of complex warships and their combat managements to the UK Royal Navy’s surface fleet. What you will be doing
In the 12 months an individual would be expected to be involved in a number of areas in order to develop a broad understanding of a Project Management role. Take responsibility for ensuring that we deliver on our customer commitments at the right time, at the right cost and to the best possible quality.

Your work will give you the breadth of experience to succeed and tasks could include controlling budgets and expenditure, covering the governance of change within projects, resourcing, fulfilling contractual requirements or interfacing with our customers. You’ll also review performance, evaluate risks and take decisions to optimise project success. Project Management is about taking real responsibility and accountability for ensuring that we deliver on our customer commitments at the right time, at the right cost and to the right quality.

We also provide the opportunity to get involved in projects outside of your primary remit. We encourage you to seek a stretch project in which you’ll gain different experiences. With our huge portfolio of products and our multinational presence, there are opportunities to get involved in something different around every corner. Additionally, we encourage involvement in community projects, STEM initiatives and support groups (called employee resource groups) which all provide valuable learning and development experiences that you may not have access to in your day-to-day role. Specific Activities may include: 
• You could find yourself assisting with a wide variety of tasks for example, controlling budgets and expenditure, reporting, decision making and covering the governance of change within projects.
• Managing project progress, identify emerging issues and trend, fulfilling contractual requirements and interfacing with our customers. 
• You might also get involved in reviewing performance, analysing risks and informing decisions to optimise project success.  
• You will receive support to enable yourself to gain a breadth of skills and business experience to be a success in this field. 
• What’s certain is that your small contribution will aid the UK MOD and our international customers receive the customer receiving the capability they need to operate effectively and easily.

Skills
As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any subject. To be considered for this role you must be returning to University to complete your degree. To be considered for this role you must be returning to University to complete your degree.
