TSPV Software Test Engineer

BAE Systems Digital Intelligence are seeking a dynamic and ambitious Software Test Engineer to join a high-performing team engaged on a range of large-scale public sector engagements.
You will be responsible for the overall quality of deployment of the key software engineering applications in Australia and ensure the software solution design meets the customer functional and non-functional requirements.
Please note that this role requires a PV Security Clearance to start the role. Given the nature of the work, you will be required to work onsite five days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creates test designs, plans, scripts, programs and supporting artefacts using appropriate tools.
- Troubleshoot issues discovered.
- Accurately detail discovered issues within the appropriate tooling.
- Articulates issues to key stakeholders.
- Execute tests as described and accurately record results.
- Use product knowledge to run investigative tests.
- Tailor approach to the phase of the project being executed.
- Evaluate and perform testing on systems hosted both internally and externally.
- Continuously develops and enhances understanding of test frameworks, technical concepts, methodologies, and metrics that underpin engineering practices.
- Works as a member of an engineering team, collaborates with other team members and takes part in technical discussions and conversations with customers.
Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrates the ability to understand, challenge, contribute or construct functional and non-functional requirements and be capable of building tests in line with the requirements.
- Experience deploying, integrating and supporting systems comprised of bespoke and COTS components.
- Experience performing a range of testing activities, including functional, integration, system, and regression testing, to ensure reliability and performance.
- Experience writing test plans, cases and reports.
- Experience working in secure environments with limited tooling.
- Continuous Development / Continuous Integration experience.
- Experience working with defects management tools.
- Experience working in Linux environments (RHEL preferred).
- Hands-on experience with networking tools such as Wireshark or tcpdump.
- Experience in scripting and object-oriented programming languages is highly desirable.
- Experience working with automation frameworks is desirable.
- Familiarity with Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) concepts and technologies will be highly regarded.
- 3+ years experience working in a similar role.
