Job title: Trainee Joinery / Tiler Location: Barrow We offer relocation support packages for this role (Barrow-in-Furness based roles), subject to meeting eligibility criteria. Salary: We offer a competitive salary with annual increases throughout the apprenticeship and a range of employee benefits including, free higher education as well as access to the Company pension and share saving scheme What you’ll be doing: As a Joinery outfit/acoustic coatings trainee you will gain experience in areas such as preparing, fixing and installing components, as well as a range of repair and maintenance activities. You will be trained on site in the following areas:- • Carrying out a range of practical tasks including measuring, marking out, fitting, cutting, splicing, finishing, positioning and securing. • Installing doors and window frames, door and hatch linings, floor joist coverings, straight partitions and straight staircases. • Install ironmongery, service encasements, wall and floor units and fitments, cladding and staircase components. • Erect inclined roofs with gables, joists, roof coverings and roof components. • Repair or replace frames, mouldings, doors, windows, door and window ironmongery, roofing components, guttering and downpipes and window components. • Use, maintain and store hand tools, power tools and associated equipment. • Casting, mould making and installation. Application and safe use of filling material sealants glues resins • Flank arrays and marking out substrates from datum’s. • Working at heights and within confined spaces The transferable skills you learn whilst with your training provider and during your work placements will enable you to fulfil a range of duties required by the business.
