Job title: Through Life Support – Through life Engineering Service Design Lead

Salary: £52,084+ depending on experience
Grade: F
- Leading engagement with Customer and Industry and SME’s and developing concepts and philosophies for how through-life engineering services will be implemented, managed and delivered end-to-end for FCAS
- Developing service specifications during the design & development phase of the programme
- Developing use cases and running workshops to understand where through-life engineering services can be optimised and improvements made on how future engineering services will be delivered in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Working closely with system architects to capture model-based representations of the service system (including people, processes, toolsets, technologies and information exchanges).
- Ensuring integration of the through-life engineering service design with other product and service development areas on the programme, such as ensuring the requirements for IT, digital and physical infrastructure, as well as interfaces with the air platform itself, are executed and communicated
- Producing strategies & plans throughout the lifecycle for the development and implementation of the through-life engineering service solution and planning and co-ordinating tasks for a small team
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Experience in providing through-life engineering support or through-life engineering modification/upgrade services
- Experience in service design, service transition/implementation, or service delivery (preferably in a military or aerospace environment)
- Knowledge of through-life responsibilities of a Design Organisation and how these can be delivered under a service arrangement
Desirable:
- Experience in any of the following disciplines of through-life engineering: Product Integrity Management, Modifications & Upgrades, Obsolescence Management, Technical Support/In-Service Support, Product or Support Optimisation, Through-Life/Continued Airworthiness, Technical Information Management
- Awareness of the PAS-280 Through-Life Engineering Services framework
- Knowledge of Military Airworthiness Authority 5000-series regulations and the through-life responsibilities of Design Approved Organisation Scheme (DAOS) approval holders
- Experience with any of the following – UK MOD Knowledge in Defence (KiD), Support Solution Envelope 21 (SSE21), Integrated Logistics Support (Def-Stan 00-600), ASD/AIA S-Series Integrated Product Support Specifications
- Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches and tools (e.g. MooD or CAMEO, SysML, MagicGrid).

The Through Life Engineering Team:
As part of the Through Life Engineering team, you will manage a small team which designs engineering services to support and upgrade the next generation combat air system. You would collaborate with a broader team, requiring a thorough understanding of performance and collaboration skills.
