Job title: Technical Authority

Salary: £52,084 – £57,344
What you’ll be doing:
· Primary design signatory for Electronics Airborne and their subsequent safe use
· Performing Independent assessments and reviews of airborne products for military aerospace customers at various stages of the lifecycle
· Providing advice to wider team relating to technical processes, procedures and legislation
· Chair local and supplier Design Reviews and provide Design Review Support on behalf of the wider business
· Possess the ability to work well independently with the ability to support and engage with Design and Lead Engineers to deliver products and integrated solutions
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
· Degree in STEM subject or completed HNC.
· Chartered/fellowship status (or working towards)
· Served a recognised apprenticeship in an Engineering discipline or have demonstrable experience operating in an Electronic / Electrical field (Aerospace desirable)
· Demonstrable Design Engineering experience in an Engineering environment
· Knowledge in one or more of the engineering disciplines (e.g. hardware, software, firmware or systems development)
Desirable:
· Knowledge of Product Environmental Engineering and Hazardous Substances
· Designing for DO-254
· EMC compatibility
· Low Voltage Directive
· ATEX Directive
· CE/UKCA compliance

The Technical Authority role:
As a Technical Authority, you will work as a part of the wider Test &Environment team, working with other test and environment disciplines such as the wind tunnel and EME teams. This is a technically significant role covering our diverse portfolio, which span all stages of the engineering lifecycle, from new technology R&D to the maintenance and support of legacy equipment in-service.
