Job Title: TDP Designer
Location: Barrow In Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: £39,873 to £44,640 depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Operate the appropriate CAD tools and Product Lifecycle Management tools (CREO Parametrics & Teamcenter) to create 3D CAD Models and 2D Drawings, ensuring correct configuration control and release of parts within the PLM tool
- Ensure that all designs produced consider: Safety, Design for Manufacture, Design to cost, Design for reliability / maintainability
- Prepare designs and / or manufacturing drawings, and other technical outputs to meet target dates
- Answer technical queries for Internal/External stakeholders with regards to design work
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Working knowledge of drawing standards and the application of geometric tolerances
- Understanding of configuration control of parts and workflow release of items and parts within a PLM system
- Engineering design experience (ideally mechanical)
Desirable:
- Working experience using CAD software (CREO Parametrics) and PLM software (Teamcenter)
- A HNC in a relevant Engineering discipline with the desire to continue further education

The Weapons System UK Engineering Team:
As part of the Weapon Systems UK Engineering team you will be involved in supporting technical changes to our existing product portfolio (i.e. M777 towed howitzer, 4.5” MK.8 MOD 1 Naval Gun, AS90 Self Propelled Howitzer & 105 Light Gun) through 3D CAD modelling, 2D Drawings, analysis, concept design and tests and trials. This role also allows you to put forward your innovative ideas and solutions to the next generation of weapon platforms for the future battle space.
