Job Title: Summer Intern Air Procurement
Location: Warton/Samlesbury (Lancashire)
BAE Systems do offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however it is expected on our Summer Internship you will be required to attend your site 3-4 days per week. Please note, this may be subject to change in line with the needs of the business. The hybrid working arrangements including which days you are required to work on site/remotely will be outlined by your line manager.
Salary: £22,000 (Pro-rata)
What you will be doing
On a Summer Internship, over 12 weeks, you will be expected to be involved in a number of areas in order to develop a broad understanding of the Procurement Services we are involved with.
Working in Procurement enables you to take up a variety of roles to help ensure that to that we deliver the right products, at the right time and at the right cost to the required quality. Your role will be varied; ranging from undertaking supplier visits to a more analytical focus of developing procurement strategies.
The Supply Chain team is an important support function in one of the world’s most exciting defence companies. We provide world-class sourcing, contract and supplier management capability to Maritime Services to deliver increased product or service quality, reduced total cost of ownership (TCO) and enhance operating efficiencies without compromising quality, safety, health or the environment.
Follow your passion with the following responsibilities
• You’ll ensure that activity delivers value for money through planned and skilful management, typically coordinating supplier selection.
• Subsequent and appropriate management of the supply base (SRM); contract negotiations, placement and management of all third party requirements in relevant categories / projects.
• You’ll develop relationships with stakeholders and maintain stakeholder maps, you’ll also be responsible for producing key reports and presentations to those same stakeholders.
Skills
As a minimum requirement you`ll need to be on course for achieving a 2:2 in your Bachelor’s degree.
To be considered for this role you must be returning to University to complete your degree.
