About the OPPORTUNITY

We have multiple exciting opportunities as a Subcontracts Officer, Subcontracts Specialists and Subcontracts Manager to join our Hunter Class Frigate Program based in Osborne reporting to the Supply Chain Manager/Head of Supply chain.

As a subcontracts professional you will be responsible for the establishment, placement and management of the appropriate contracting arrangements with capable suppliers to deliver the cost, schedule, quality and safety requirements of the business, which, through effective relationship and performance management, maximise value and minimise risk.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage/generate the lifecycle management (LCM) Procurement and Subcontract Management Plans.
  • Provide support to the management of cross business commodities and subcontracts management.
  • Supporting/managing supplier relationships, including regular engagement and escalation of performance concerns and risks.
  • Responsibility for all project supplier metrics performance.
  • Lead/support presentations and engaging with program management teams, IPTs, and other functional areas regarding subcontract/supplier approvals and performance issues.
  • Building cross-functional relationships with project stakeholders to facilitate timely decision-making.
  • Lead/support the Supply Chain elements of bids and tenders ensuring robust definition of requirements and supplier contractual terms in line with customer requirements.
  • Lead/support supplier negotiations and finalise Supplier Agreements in accordance with set Delegations of Authority.
  • Proactively manage the performance of the suppliers to achieve the requirements of the contract from a schedule, cost and quality perspective, developing and embedding the relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

About YOU

  • Tertiary qualification in Business/Commerce/law or relevant fields will be highly regarded.
  • A Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) would be highly regarded.
  • Ability to effectively manage stakeholder expectations and deliver on commitments.
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement or supply chain.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and execution of contract management strategies across a diverse portfolio.
  • Familiarity and experience in the development and negotiation of contracts with key suppliers.
